If he has autism, this might end if we can get everybody to ignore him. For a long time. No replies on his Facebook posts or new friend requests. We'd need to put him in about the position he's putting his daughter in. Anybody want to take that on ;)?
Why do you keep writing this. He has already stated unequivocally that his daughter wants him to do this, as do his sons. They want some kind of recognition that what Micklesen did was wrong. A small apology sincerely meant, an acknowledgement of guilt instead of blaming the victim.
How could Micklesen have handled this better. Focus on him.
I think you're trolling.
1. I have made the statement that I believe that it is possible that both Karren and Mikelsen could be guilty of child sexual abuse. I have made the statement that I think they could both be innocent and that this is all hokey and part of a divorce strategy. I do not know.
2. I have made the statement that regardless of either party's guilt or innocence regarding the child sexual abuse, I believe Karren was an abusive partner to his ex-wife based on the way he drew public attention to the private areas of her body and attempted to get the Internet to gossip about her. I have made the statement that I think that the way he is currently treating his daughter is abusive.
3. Karren has made the claim that his children want him to do this. I do not necessarily believe Karren's claims to be true. I have made the statement that if they are true, and his daughter has stated that she wants him to do this, I do not think she is old enough to give her full consent to something this big. Karren's public behaviors appear to be manipulative and I would assume that his behaviors towards his children are therefore manipulative. They many not know anything else. He may have manipulated them into being manipulative, etc. Family systems are complex.
I will also remind you that he said his daughter was going to come forward and tell her own story in three days and when the three days passed, we did not hear from her.
3. I have alluded to the fact that I think Karren needs treatment. I will make that statement directly now. Karren needs to seek treatment so that he can try to sort through his perceptions about his incentives and what his actual incentives may be.
4. I have made the statement that Karren is exhibiting symptoms of what might be high-functioning autism. I have made the statement that I of course do not know. I do not. I would like his family members to read my thoughts so they can google it and think about it. They will know if they get enough information regardless of whether or not Karren ever looks into it (this is a disorder that people who have can not necessarily easily perceive and many, especially older people who were not diagnosed as children, will deny they have any symptoms despite symptom severity).
My references to positive reinforcement and ignoring unwanted behaviors allude to a treatment method called Applied Behavior Analysis. It is very difficult to apply in a situation like this, but, since you asked, I will send his family in that direction because thinking about these concepts might give them some relief if he does indeed have high-functioning autism.

5. I would like Karren's daughter and ex-wife, if they are reading, to know that their perspective is recognized and spoken. This will help them in their abandonment.
6. I am angry that church leadership has not established effective child protection policies. I am angry that they foster an environment that creates a situation in which people who have been so hurt by Mormonism that they want revenge are willing to support someone who hurts his own daughter. Church leadership will be hearing from me sooner than they'd like.
7. This discussion is important. I have made the statement that I think it has needed to happen for three decades. I am angry that it has to happen at Karren's daughter's detriment. She is not a means to an end. She is an individual.
8. I am angry that children are devastatingly hurt and that facing this reality is so difficult that people will turn blind eyes and support the powerful people who do nothing to help them. I am angry that people don't want to talk about hard subjects. Well, this may be hard for adults to talk about, but it is only by talking about it that people can be educated enough to work together to take action to prevent children from facing these things alone.
9. I would like former Mormons to think about the fact that they may have a tendency to support someone whose ideological perspective is similar to their own. I gave an extreme example of a type of story some children report. I spoke of a bishop raping a child and then forcing the child to kill a kitten so the bishop could shame the child into silence and therefore ensure he would not be caught.
How can former Mormons expect Mormons to believe this might be true instead of a story a victim made up if they can not even accept that Karren may also be a perpetrator considering his actions in this case? It is possible he and Mikelsen worked together to abuse members of their family and then got into a fight. That may not be the case. We don't know. But if you can't accept that this may be a possibility, how do you expect believing Mormons to accept that Mikelsen might have done what Karren says he did or that their neighbor who is a cheerful, charismatic, dedicated bishop might have raped a child and forced the child to kill a kitten.
I've seen enough in life to be very cynical. You give Karren your easy trust because you share former Mormonism with him. I do not.
I would like Karren to apologize to his daughter and then do what he can to clean up the clutter he has spewed across the internet.
