Hi Good K. Your list of "issues" is something I would expect to hear from someone that hasn't been around the block too many times and has a testosterone level that's a bit out of kilter. IMS possibly? (go here for starters: http://www.gotapex.com/the-softer-side- ... t-pms.html) The comment that I am referencing above causes me to think that you are in your early twenties or thereabouts? If so, how in the world can you have the bull by the horns and have everything in regards to "truth" all figured out already?

Amazing.

To make mind altering and earth shattering judgements/decisions concerning God and truth at a young age is risky behavior, in my opinion. Hormones and chemical complexities within the body can affect one's rational senses. It is also more likely that one will lash out at others and make hasty and faulty pronouncements and decisions along the way. Without making an absolute/binding judgement in your case, it sounds like this may have occurred, at least in part, in what some have referred to as the mocking of your father. IMS can play a part in some situations that we'd just as well go back and redo if we could.

Anyway, something to consider.

Additionally I find it amazing that DP would drop in here and subject himself to a public mauling. Was he actually hoping to convince anyone HERE that he was in the right? I doubt it. I do think that he may have felt it necessary to stand up, however, to protect/defend his good name. At least from his POV.

Can't fault a man for that!

Yeah, I have a list, too, that includes things such as "revelation obviously doesn't work", and "Joseph Smith married other men's wives". Ya think I just had PMS?

Lord, mg, this was possibly one of the most patronizing and silly posts I've seen you produce.

Look, I know you talked yourself back into believing in the church, but have you actually convinced yourself that there are not extremely serious "challenges", so to speak, in regards to several truth claims the LDS makes??? If so, that's one heck of a mental gymnastic performance.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Tongue and cheek. To a point.

Clearly.

one moment, of the well of life to taste-

Dan Peterson's letter to GoodK's dad:

Dear XXXXXX:

Thanks for informing us of XXXXXXX’s situation. I’m glad to hear that she’s apparently doing better, and I’m including her in my prayers.

On a related but rather unpleasant note, I’ve gone back and forth as to whether I should call your attention to the following item, but I finally decided that you probably ought to be aware of it:

http://www.mormondiscussions.com/discus ... sc&start=0

I don’t want to add to your stresses and burdens. If I’ve made a mistake in judgment here, please forgive me.

With very best wishes for you, your wife, and your daughter,

Dan Peterson

You don't point out the context of GoodK's post to his dad, Dan. You don't mention that Shade's board has a very low participation rate relative to other Mormon or exmormon boards. Probably about the same 30 people post regularly and have followed it from its inception, not much more than that and included in that group are some trolls who don't take it at all seriously, and people such as myself who are not involved in the Mormon community. There is only a very small number who do take it seriously here. So at time when GoodK's dad is going through a stressful traumatic event, you took it upon yourself to tattletail and implied to his dad that this should be such a serious concern. Think about it Dan, only to you and maybe Crockett is what GoodK did considered serious. And what was GoodK doing? He was venting anonymously to small group of people. Who other than you and Crockett could care less about that post? Most people Dan are not obsessed with message boards the way you are. You have lost your sense of perspective. GoodK's post done anonymously and within a matter of a day or at most a week, would have been lost into cyberworld oblivion. But what you did is invade and interfere into the real lives of others, with the obvious intent of causing harm. What good could possibly have come about because of your actions? And obviously GoodK's dad had greater issues to deal with than to listen to some fanatically obsessed internet participant blow things out of proportion, instead of putting things into proper perspective. Of course, your actions added stress and burdens. When someone is going through stress, one should take care to not add further unnecessary stress to their lives. How was GoodK's dad to know just how unimportant GoodK's actions were, when he doesn't live in the "nutty" Internet world and obsess about it like you do?

^^You mean "Mwahahahahahaha!" It's much more malevolent-sounding with the "m" instead of the "b". If you were a real villain, you'd know that.

This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a while.

No Dan... you did nothing wrong. And Joe Smith was a real prophet.

We all know two wrongs make a right, don't we?

ROTFLMAO
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
