Given the absurdity of his assumptions and the fundie approach I am beginning to think of the possibility he/she is a plant.

What you are describing is the gift of tongues. The tongue of the learned. Isaiah chapter 50 is well written of me as of any man.
Before me there was no man in the LDS Church yet the Lord had not yet written it off. It even talks about MERCURY!
