This reminds me of the first time I truly grasped the power of media and misinformation. Back in the 90’s a buddy and I had a little radio gig we did for fun on Fort Irwin when we weren’t doing Army stuff. We came up with the idea to do a psyop against “Blue Forces” as they came into Post and prepared for war games. We were granted permission by the Opposing Force (our side) Commander to antagonize the Blufor cdr and his staff.Father Francis wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:22 amAbout the same time Jade Helm 15 is finally fully realized and you are herded into a FEMA camp...
So, we set about broadcasting “news reports” about the Blufor cdr that were pretty ridiculous. For example, we would play a helicopter track and then pretend we were flying over their cantonment area and say things like, “WE NOW SEE THE BLUFOR CDR EXITING HIS HUMVEE, AND … AND … IS THAT A WOOBIE? OH, WOW. THE BLUFOR CDR HAS AN ACTUAL WOOBIE IN HIS HANDS. HE HAS A WOOBIE, FOLKS. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT AN AMERICAN CDR WOULD CARRY AROUND A WOOBIE AND, WAITAMINUTE, IS HE SUCKING HIS THUMB?” And so on. You wouldn’t believe how effective that was, to get inside the mind of a cdr. Our cdr got a few angry phone calls from blufor cdrs, but he loved it. He said that any time they spend thinking about our show and being angry is less time he’s spending getting ready for the upcoming exercises. He thought those were valuable lessons for everyone to learn.
The level of obliviousness by the public with regard to to foreign influence exerted on us via social media is bananas. The level of effectiveness is beyond anything anyone could imagine. Russia literally printed their gameplan with regard to their geopolitical goals, and we still took, and take, few countermeasures. If there is to be an undoing of Pax Americana, it’s due to our own complacency brought about by our addiction to bread and circus.
