Well, we’re seeing the inevitable results of people cloistering themselves away in tightly controlled echo chambers either through selective moderation, brigading through a voting system, or creating more and more niche bubbles where partisans reinforce ideology. The radicalizing of an electorate is a sort of ‘blockchain’ of content where you create general content Forum A which opens opportunity to create Forum B which is a little friendlier to one’s brain which opens the door to Forum C because forums A & B are filled with wrongthink and assholes. But then it gets really interesting because Forum C partisans begin to assert control over Forum B and eventually that creeps into Forum A.
You can extend the example to additional forums such as D-E-F, but the idea remains.
Most of us on this board like to focus on the Right because it’s easy to paint Conservatism as obstructionist, regressive, and xenophobic. Ironically, a lot of us turn a blind eye to the same behavior being exerted, systematically by the Left, and not accepting that a lot of the political behavior on both sides is driven by partisanship and offensive legislation. The Left is just as guilty as the Right with regard to to the tactics described above, and ironically the Left’s political history is drenched in blood and oppression ‘for the cause’. So much for human rights and liberation.
Q, the original Q, the troll that began posting on pol saw an opportunity for a larp. As mentioned above, the troll understood his audience and saw an opportunity to foment hysteria and to push the alt-Right poltrolls into a conspiratorial prepper end of days movement because they immediately ate it up. This had, I’m convinced, the unintended effect of bleeding over to social media. Much to Q’s trollish delight people couldn’t wait for another ‘drop’ from the Insider who was spilling secrets about the Deep State. Eventually Q was copycatted and the rest is history.
And now we’re -> here <-.
