Mister Scratch wrote:The irony here is that you demand that people read the entire, lengthy Mitton/James article, without proffering any commentary of your own, and yet you cannot be bothered to read this ZLMB thread. Hmmm.....

No irony.

You've made claims about the entire Mitton and James article, so I've invited people, if they're interested, to test your claims against the entire Mitton and James article.

You've also made claims about that entire 28-page thread. I have nothing against anybody reading through it who cares to do so. And, if you would like me to, I'll even tell them that, if they're interested, they can test your claims against the original thread:

If you're interested in testing Scratch One's claims about that thread, feel free to read it through.

There. Satisfied?

(I didn't think so.)

hey do that? I thought that was considered akin to starting a board war over there.

That was FAIR. MAD deliberately decided to allow posters to create posts about topics being discussed on other boards. Juliann has started several, and since her claims are the main problem in the Z thread, if she could think of any way to spin it at all, I'm certain she would have started a thread to do so. After all, look at how DCP has been attacked on this thread. That's the type of thing Juliann and a few others glory in sharing. "See how stupid and mean our critics are? Just LOOK at what they said to DCP!!"

Oh well the next time someone finds this board interesting please pm me. :)

Or we can just start a thread about them starting a thread about us starting a thread that they found interesting.

As I'm reading the recent replies on this thread, I'm getting a clear "who the hell cares any more" kinda feeling. Anyone else?

I never really cared much about the DCP/Quinn thing - I was far more interested in the Murphy/Juliann thread and what that revealed about the exodus from Z and the motivation for FAIR. But that topic kind of drowned in all the back and forth between scratch and DCP. Too bad.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I don't think it's anything knew to find out that some of the Mormon apologists will cook any story to make their beliefs possible. So it's kinda like....."who the hell cares anymore.....we already know they're full of it."

Edit: And I'm actually really suprised that this thread didn't even earn a rebuttal beastie.

It's kinda hard to put up a rebuttal to the obvious. Obviously, there was no transcript. Nor did Murphy malign Midgley or Echohawk. Case closed.

Yeah, I agree with you somewhat, Beastie. I had wondered if any of the MADites would wander over in order to challenge what had been presented here. (Where is Wade, for example?) Further, I thought that A Light in the Darkness's apparently stunned reaction was quite telling. S/he seem pretty shocked that juliann, DCP, and et. al. would behave in this way. But where did ALitD go? I'd be interested in hearing more of his/her take on this issue.

Nope. Like Beastie, I still care. That Murphy/Midgley/Echohawke thread on ZLMB was, quite literally, the grandest, most epic thread in the entire history of LDS debate on the Internet. That thread is where the Mopologists and their modii operandi were laid bare for all the world to see, with no escape routes--or even plausible deniability--left available to them.

I think Mister Scratch made the same observation much earlier. I, too, was eagerly waiting to see if they could cook up any sort of defense for their fiasco over there, but nope--nothing but crickets chirping.

That sentiment was expressed by more than one person so far, wasn't it? Who was it that said they had previously thought rather highly of Jan, Calmoriah, et. al., only to have their impression utterly shattered?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Don't be so one-eyed, Shades. You don't believe exmos and antis have their "modii operandi"?
