GoodK wrote:You countered with, well kids shouldn't be able to get birth control.

My opinion is that they should, if they need it.

If they need it? Why would they need it?

They would need it because they are having sex and don't want to get pregnant.
They could be afraid to talk to their parents, they could be poor. There could be a lot a of reasons they need birth control.

Teenagers aren't the best decision makers, and if you think you can just make them wait until they are responsible enough to have sex you must have forgotten what it's like to be a teenager. They are going to do it. Why not at least accommodate the ones that will be responsible enough to ask for birth control.

Let's hear your non-religious explanation.

One more time: kids aren't teenagers. Kids are baby goats, or in pinch, children. Jersey is talking children. Teenagers are an entirely different animal. Clarify your posts! If you mean teenagers, don't say "kids". Using "kids" when you mean "teenagers" only shows your immaturity.

Again: grow up! Hell's bells! You use words like one my daughter's middle-schoolers. Age your vocabulary, because it's pathetic for someone as supposedly mature as you try to portray yourself.

And again: in my community, in my county, in my state, contraceptives and condoms are available to anyone who is mature enough to ask for them. Don't spread the unenlightened aspects of your own community with such a broad brush. Some of us are actually ahead of you.

GoodK,

Why do you continue to wave the religion flag around in your posts to me? Have I given you anything BUT non-religious material to deal with on this thread?

Have I?

I have a 25 and a 27 year old and I call them kids. I also call teenagers... kids. Sometimes I call people in their 20's kids.

Jersey Girl wrote: I'm sorry, GoodK, this "I have a hard on, please give my gf birth control so I can use it" doctrine is getting a little old. Just because your dick works, doesn't mean you have a right to use it on someone and expect adults to pay for your gf's birth control so you can.

And Jersey Girl and her friends have the right to tell me what to do with my dick.

I rest my case.

Sweetie, I don't give a rat's ass what you do with your dick, as long as I don't have to pay for it in the end. Unfortunately, there are altogether too many children like you running around who haven't grown up enough to be given the right to do what you want to with your dick, because you and they want the fun without the responsibility. Buy your own contraceptives, condoms, whatever. Ever heard of that? Buy your own damn contraceptives! Why should the American taxpayer have to pay for your or anyone else's contraceptives? Oh yeah... because otherwise, we'd have to pay for the abortions or pay for the chlid for the next 18 years.

Grow up. Geez, I'm starting to feel you did your dad a favor by rebelling. What a piece of work you are.

I do pay for my own contraceptives. I'm not talking about myself here.

Then why are you making comments about your dick? You're the one who brought it up, as it were.

I'm talking about idiots that think it's ok to lobby the government because they feel their morality is superior to freedom of choice.

And I'm saying... what the hell are you talking about? In my community, contraceptives are available for free to anyone old enough to need them. The health department provides condoms, Planned Parenthood provides contraceptives. It's not my fault you live in a less enlightened state.

Why do you think you can comment on my family life, by the way?

Because you put it out in public. If you don't want people to comment on something personal, then don't put it on the bulletin board. Basic internet protocol, Sweetie.

Again: grow up.

And again: I don't know how you've arrived at the conclusion that it's a good thing I rebelled against my dad. That certainly can't be based on anything here.

I hope you weren't just looking for a cheap shot. It would be sad to see someone of your character resorting to such tactics.

by the way, Jersey Girl is the one to bring up my dick. It's not my style to talk so crudely. And before that Kevin accused me of not paying for my own contraceptives.

But whatever, sweetie. I'm sorry you feel so defensive.

That's not my problem, marg. It's yours. And your children's. Of course, if they like being referred to as baby goats, then whatever term you use to refer to them in a family setting, no harm no foul.

However, as you well know, for clarity sake, use of the accepted vernacular helps convey one's point. And in the real world, children are not kids.

I assume, being the good LDS man that he is, he'd be somewhat ashamed to see you figuretively waving your dick around a bulletin board. But he can't be held accountable for your actions, if you've rebelled against what he taught you.

I hope you weren't just looking for a cheap shot. It would be sad to see someone of your character resorting to such tactics.

I don't do cheap, period.

by the way, Jersey Girl is the one to bring up my dick. It's not my style to talk so crudely.

Then why continue with it? Why accelerate it?

[qutoe]And before that Kevin accused me of not paying for my own contraceptives. [/quote]

So what difference does it make to you?

But whatever, sweetie. I'm sorry you feel so defensive.

I don't do defensive either.

I intended to refer to your dick as in the royal dick, not your dick personally as in "little GoodK". And yes, you do talk crudely.

Ok Harmony. Looks like you're starting to run low on substance here... thanks for your input though.

Before I continue here, GoodK, I want to know why you can't keep that religious flag out of my face? Where have I given you anything BUT non-religious material/issues/reasons/opinions/fact based experience to deal with here?

Royal dick? Is this what you were talking about, a veterinary school in the UK?

I take offense to you saying I talk crudely. Please, give me an example of that, or apologize, before I go on.

But I'll answer your question: I wave the religious flag in your face because the reasons you have given are not valid reasons. You say you don't want to pay for it, but it is less expensive to give kids birth control than to pay for their unwanted pregnancies. Which is why I asked you again for a better non-religious reason for why kids who need birth control should not get it. If you gave it, forgive me, I must have missed it in the midst of all my crude posting.
