There's a difference. I know that close reading of texts -- or, for that matter, reading of texts -- isn't necessarily your thang, but there is a difference.

Perhaps it would be more effective if I listed my degrees and accomplishments, and threw in a foreign language or two. ;)

Don't get too big for your britches. I know several institutions -- including one in Melbourne, Australia -- that could put me back in the lead within a couple of weeks for only, say, a few hundred bucks at the most.

It takes a master teacher to reach the class that others have dismissed as "slow". Above average students can succeed with even a half-assed teacher, and even average students can usually reach satisfactory levels with such a teacher. It's the "slow classes" that weed out the truly good teachers from those who simply teach out of the lack of anything better to do.
