The discussion underway was apparently about an in-person conversation between Meldrum and Midgley.

I could hardly believe what I was reading. Imagine the "balls" Midgley must posess for him to go down to the Tanner's business and corner a lone, older woman while accompanied by his hired muscle, Novak and Roper. Roper at least, is not a little guy.
Three grown men against one elderly woman, two there as "witnesses" and the third harrassingly "taking notes", getting every little slip down that can be used later, as if the words of someone unexpectedly cornered, intimidated, and browbeaten could ever fairly represent her position.
Yes Scott, the bravery of these apologists is unheard of.
