Wade, let me repeat, what is the subject of this thread? Have you addressed it? The subject is "Ray's
comments to Wade" on another thread. Have you addressed them yet? If you want to interview me and ask all of these personal questions, then go ahead, but
not on this thread.
by the way, I'll be on here today only about another hour or so because I have work to do.
Ray,
My primary purpose in participating here is not to argue differences of opinion or to try and change people's minds--though from time to time I will offer my own perspective for consideration.
If you have decided that the Book of Mormon is non-historical, then that is your business, and it is of little concern or interest to me, and I am happy to wish you well in your new faith journey. And, the same is true for any difference in belief that you and I may have. I, personally, have a very high tolerance for differences of opinions.
However, what does interest and concern me are corrosive emotions or sentiments that you and others may feel towards me, my faih, and other members of my faith--in large part, I believe, because of an alarming level of intolerance of our opposing views.
My desire is for all of us to succeed in meeting the basic human need to progress to become the best people possible and gain a fulness of joy and love one with another.
This won't happen to the extent that we end up debating fruitlessly divergent opinions, or even more so if one or the other or both of us are burdened with animosity, contempt, prejudice, etc.
I see it as in both of our interest (but your's in particular) to work through your animus towards LDS, and foster an environment of mutual respect and kindness as well as reorient our focus in fulfilling the basic human need previously mentioned.
I'm not proposing psycho-analysis. Rather, I am suggesting common-sensically working out heart-to-heart and mind-to-mind your toxic sentiments and move on to a better and more productive life--that is, assuming that is what you want for yourself. It's your choice. At your leisure, please let me know.
Thanks, -Wade Englund-
