Later reports claiming that Rigdon was a frequent visitor to the Smith home between 1827 and 1830--even impregnating Catherine Smith!--are simply not credible.

Nevo, please comment on the pinned thread. I have some questions I'd like to ask you, but I don't want to continue to derail this thread. Thanks.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

My comment wasn't really directed at the participants on the pinned thread, but feel free to move it there if you like. Just so you know, I'm going to be away from my computer for a few days (I'm flying to Winnipeg tomorrow for a family function and won't be back until Monday night). I expect the board will have moved on by then, but if not, I'll be happy to respond to your questions.

That's right. Shut the hell up and let the grown-ups talk.

Good for you.

Given your participation on this board, and, even more, the nature of your participation, your claim isn't plausible.

Not actually a very cogent rebuttal (if that's what it was intended to be).

Mormonism is manifestly still very much on your mind, and a huge chip is on your shoulder. I can't see any reasonable way to deny that.

So your claim that you feel "normal" and that you scarcely remember your connection with Mormonism is not at all credible. Unless, of course, "normalcy" for you is a huge chip on your shoulder -- which, I suppose, is possible.

Yep. All's well in Zion.

No. People who are genuinely confident in themselves don't need to rebut others' claims about them (something I've noticed that you don't seem to understand - or perhaps you do, but just lack that confidence). I'm not concerned about your opinion of me or the weight of your credibility, so there's no need to rebut your ideas about me.

Ooooo... where's a good DCP quote I can use about how you know more about my thoughts, ideas and behaviors than I do. That would be awesome right here.

Are you trying to make a claim that you can tell much about a person by the way they post? Are you sure you want to step through that door?

LOL

But see, it's hard to take someone seriously who claims to know as much about Mormon history as you do and yet still believe it. Obviously, your assessment of what's "credible" is entirely suspect.

But please, enjoy your beliefs about me. I'm sure they entertain and comfort you as much as your fantasies about the church's truthfulness.

Well, okay. You can scarcely remember being Mormon, are pretty much indifferent to the subject, and feel entirely normal. And your posting here, and your personal hostility toward Mormons and Mormonism, are entirely consistent with that.

Most of us remember, fondly, of being Mormon, I feel no hostility toward Church.
I feel at home whenever I step in Utah.
