So. Back to the point. Here is what current LDS types believe about interracial marriage:
Africans, of course, were a special case. (Only Black Africans)
The priesthood ban made them a special case. (Because they were Black)
I think, given the premise of a priesthood ban (Only against Blacks), that it would have been seriously wrong for someone from a priesthood-eligible line (not black) to marry someone from a priesthood-ineligible line (black). I think it wrong to marry out of the Church, too. (Don't marry a Black person if the prophet decides Black people can't have the priesthood again)
With the exception of the (racist) Priesthood ban (against Blacks), all other interracial marriages were under those conditions (as long as you weren't marrying a Black man). If you read Kimball and others in their entirety instead of culling inflammatory quotes then you'd know that.
For the record, incidentally, I take Brigham Young (an avowed racist) extremely seriously.
