MAD Poster: DCP Delivers Talk that is not "Relevant"
Re: MAD Poster: DCP Delivers Talk that is not "Relevant"
I love reading Scratches highlights from the MAaD board, so much more fun than wading through the board myself.
Anyway, Daniel, your presentation sounds really interesting, is there a youtube or online version?

I had to laugh that the mod misspells DCP's last name. Of course, s/he typos "supsension" too. I'm just being picky but really it's a chuckle. (Proofreading is a large part of my current work).

I'm wondering if there is a bit of cloak and dagger going on here. At any rate, I believe I can see in part, the grand design behind this new project.
Please reveal the grand nefarious design, o most revered Prophet of Scratchism. Though for now you only prophesy in part, give us thy wisdom and show us how this academic project was forged to beguile us away from the true faith.

Do you think you can offer sufficient historical evidence of Jesus's ressurection to compel reasonable belief? That is a common meaning of "proof" but by "prove" I think you mean provide deductive certainty. What about establish it being as plausible as the contrary?
I'm sure I could find out elsewhere, but I am a bit curious if you are arguing in a manner similar to WLC et. al. as well.

No.

Well, that's interesting. Are you sure that there were no "donation collections," or anything of that nature?
Yes.

No, and no.
And no FARMS symposium has ever charged a fee.

You wouldn't be a Scratch if you didn't.

No.

I wouldn't use the word compel, but I do think that I can show that belief in the resurrection of Jesus is reasonable.

There was nothing from William Lane Craig in my remarks on Friday night, but I do find his arguments significant.

I asked you about your motives in a previous post, but this seems to basically cover what I was asking. Based on this, it seems that your project is aimed at helping people to feel better about their belief in the resurrection. Or, to view it from another angle, you are looking to convince non-believers that there is nothing silly about thinking that Jesus rose from the dead. Would you say that this is a reasonably accurate characterization of what you're up to?
Also: I'm disappointed that you haven't been back to respond on the "Mormon Art" thread. I have been looking forward to your substantive replies on that subject. You haven't thrown in the towel on that, have you?

Are you acknowledging that you saw that thread as simply yet another adversarial Scratch vs. Peterson match-up?
