I don't mind blizzards so long as we don't lose power. We're on an electric well system out here in the boonies, so when the power goes out, so does the water.
Not a good thing!
We have a new back up generator which could be the key to lessening our collective misery. Snow shovels are at the ready, our plow is on standby and I've got jugs of water ready just incase the back up gen. doesn't do the trick.
Why do we need water jugs?
Simple. We, of course, need water for drinking and cooking. We always have cases of bottled water for drinking, cooking and washing up if needed. When the well goes out, we can't wash and more importantly...we cannot flush. Aye there's the rub! The jugs are for the flushing as a back up for the tub.
Tub, you ask? Yes, when a blizzard is on the way, you fill the bath tubs with water to flush your toilets.
Isn't country life a marvelous thing? Aren't you so seriously interested in our toilets?
Please note that this thread went into the toilet from the very first post.

Let it snow!
