KA is right, GoodK.

If the church was hauling moonshine, Dan would be their chase vehicle.

This is a mistake, GoodK.

In any case, this board is probably the single least-frequented LDS-related forum in cyberspace.

This board actually seems to have a surprisingly large readership. I get far more hits on my blog when I post a link here than when I put one on MADB.

I know of none. And I've been searching.

Personally, Dr. Dan, I think that your particular post in the other thread was in extremely bad form and taste.

What I question is why you picked GoodK to make your example and why you chose a scenario of mental illness, jail, abuse of women and psych institutions?

I question this because you know his father and family, which is basically inside information. I question whether you deliberately chose the issues you did because you knew they would set GoodK off. I think you knew exactly what you were doing and you have this humor thing of yours down to an art. You should be proud.

While I don't condone any side in this snafu I wish you could have acted as the cognizant professional here, but you didn't. You chose a low blow on a younger man you have inside information on.

Ballard and Monson should be proud.

Yes because whatever point Dan was attempting to make, it need not involve Eric since Eric has not been abusive to Dan nor writing lies on the board about him. So why single him out. It seems that Dan for quite some time and crocket as well have both on this board been quite abusive to Eric in their posts.

It shows quite a mean streak in Dan. I don't think it's out of character, he does have quite a mean streak.

From way back when Eric wrote a post critical of his step dad's belief that priesthood blessings work, and Dan got involved by informing the step dad, Dan has not only meddled inappropriately in the real life affairs of others but he seems to be quite abusively generally against Eric in many posts. I think it's quite sad, given that Eric has been through quite a lot. Sent away from home, from family (mom and sister) from friends, that alone is extremely abusive to a place which used behavior modification techniques which are commonly known to be also be quite abusive. And he was sent there for minor issues. So I find it extremely insensitive of Dan and Crocket, the way they are so unempathetic and infact extremely cruel.

Maybe GOODK is merely making allegations as a test.

Will, you are by far one of the most foul mouthed, ignorant and insensitive Mormons I have ever encountered. If what you have said in the "Easter Greeting" thread is true:

Yes, dear Dr., I am passionate about my beliefs. And one of my most passionate beliefs is that the first thing an apostate Mormon loses on his way out the chapel door is his irony sensor. Who would have thought it was something that depended on religious faith? I know I wouldn’t have. Nevertheless, I’ve long since established the incontrovertible connection between the two things: once they’ve vacated the chapel, there ain’t a lick of irony ever registers in their minds again.

Do you see what I mean, Shades?

I'm not saying it happens to all of them, but for many (and Ray is a case in point) it's like a certain part of their brain gets cauterized the instant they walk out the chapel door with the intent of never returning.

Will, stay in the church, please, because if you leave it you are going to turn into one ugly, vulgar, foul mouthed mother.

He's right about one thing, though, Pok. There is a part of a person's brain that "gets cauterized the instant they walk out the chapel door with the intent of never returning." It's the part that's willing to swallow the ridiculous b***s*** of a 19th century conman who humped teenage girls and other men's wives.

Cauterization is used to stop the bleeding so healing can begin.

I agree with others who have voiced the opinion that threatening to sue another poster should result in automatic banning.

The smart thing to do is just remain anonymous. What is to be gained by revealing your identity?
