And I will bet a dollar that many Utah young missionaries have the BY discourses in their parent's home library. They can just pick up the book and read.

Yep. We left to sin, not because we found out Mormonism was dishonest with us concerning the reality of its history.

Where has it been dishonest about its history? Has the LDS church denied that Joseph Smith was a polygamist? Or BY? Has the LDS church denied such facts? Where is the lie?

And what of the missionaries whose parents don't have the Discourses in their libraries? It's all their fault that they didn't look up the truth claims of the Church on the Internet?

This is just idiotic.

And I do not want to rain on anyone's parade, but the three guys informed the young missionary that she could go to the church sponsored site to find out the information about Joseph Smith's wives.

They should buy it. Just order it from deseret books. It comes in 26 volumes. Of course it contains more than just what BY said.

And here is something from the Ensign about them:

Oh no, they considered a source their audience would think of as credible! What a bunch of, umm... good rhetoricians?

I don't know but this has happened before. The church hides the fact that Joseph Smith had other wives than emma according to the critics and yet, it can be found on a church sponsored site.

I had all 26 volumes in hardcopy but dispensed with them after moving house seven times. They are now online anyway, so no real need to buy them.

The Church only selectively quotes from them and much of their content is controversial. In one instance Brigham Young teaches that men live in the sun. Edited versions have been more popular with Church members.
