God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Can you really not see that?
So what was your intention in sending him the link? What reaction did you expect from Eric's step-dad, "God bless him"?
Or did you really know that this would further fuel the flames?

Re: Eric.
Ray doesn't know what he's talking about.
There's really nothing more directly relevant that can be said. Ray is pronouncing judgment on a matter of which he has inadequate knowledge, and on which he has no need to pronounce judgment in the first place.
It's a mark, I think, of the warped ethos of some who post here that they regard as arrogant a call to refrain from judging in cases where one is plainly insufficiently informed and obviously lacks standing.

I've explained that dozens of times already: I thought he should know. I reasoned that I would want to know.
Ray A wrote:What reaction did you expect from Eric's step-dad, "God bless him"?
I expected pretty much what I got, which was a sigh and a thank you.
Eric's stepfather and I had already spoken about Eric for years by that time. Eric's stepfather knew full well what Eric's theological position was. The note wasn't a shock to him.
Ray A wrote:Or did you really know that this would further fuel the flames?
I didn't believe that it would fuel the flames, and I don't think it did. Nor -- I've specifically asked him -- does Eric's stepfather think that it fueled the flames. The flames were already burning hot and high, and had been for a long time. I knew that. I'm not a plausible scapegoat in this situation.

Yes, Ray. It's because he was sometimes late for early-morning seminary and used the word flip.
