Mormonism is like MDB: one only needs to stick around a while to become a god.
Mormon godhood/MormonDiscussions godhood is too easy to obtain to mean much and besides, the benefits aren't that great. No omniscience. No omnipresence. The VIP Suite is too crowded.
That's why I'm no "god." I'm the Cupcake Queen. Omnidelicious. Omnifrosted. Singular in glory.

Interestingly, we apostates and non-believers may disagree with Will about what "world to come" may or may not exist. It's all imagination, belief, fantasy, myth, whatever. But we do exist, as people, here on Earth, at the same time. There really is a person behind that avatar, just as there is behind mine, and everyone else's here (except the occasional spambot posts of course...).
What this really means is that we're really all in the same boat. The distinctions between us are artificial, and of our own device. What the divisions here really signify is not that we're all so very different from each other, but that we're all so very human, and doing precisely the kinds of things human beings do. It's so human to believe in superstition, and it's so human to argue about it with others. What goes on here is, then, not atypical of humanity, but in fact very typical of it.
Way to go, team!
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Congratulations, Will! You have reached over 1000 posts in the Shady Acres Trailer Park.
You are cordially invited to a party in the Goddess Suite!
If anyone has NICE things to say about Will, now is the time!
Speech! Speech!
Shucks, folks ...
Anyway, my time is short this morning, so my "speechifying" will have to be postponed until later. But I want to thank all of you who took the time to congratulate me on my exalted status. I will respond to some of your remarks as soon as time permits ...
