Simon, we don't have to exhaust the list of organizations that use the word "guild" in their name in order to see that you simply blew it.
This is one of those times where you and Scratch should, but doubtless will not, admit you're wrong.
You see, as I've said before, when someone says "late night with your guild?" That means, to the common person who speaks in modern parlance and slang that there was a video-game battle on an MMO (these days, usually World of Warcraft). It does not mean the questioner is asking whether the entire Screen Actor's Guild got together to read the latest script and it went well into the night. It also does not mean that the entire Writer's Guild of America got together and wrote something late at night.
In plain language -- plain English -- it is very commonly understood that when you ask whether it was a "late night with your guild" it means "did you play your chosen MMO late into the night."
