Obviously.

Simon, we don't have to exhaust the list of organizations that use the word "guild" in their name in order to see that you simply blew it.

This is one of those times where you and Scratch should, but doubtless will not, admit you're wrong.

You see, as I've said before, when someone says "late night with your guild?" That means, to the common person who speaks in modern parlance and slang that there was a video-game battle on an MMO (these days, usually World of Warcraft). It does not mean the questioner is asking whether the entire Screen Actor's Guild got together to read the latest script and it went well into the night. It also does not mean that the entire Writer's Guild of America got together and wrote something late at night.

In plain language -- plain English -- it is very commonly understood that when you ask whether it was a "late night with your guild" it means "did you play your chosen MMO late into the night."

No, I'm not saying that, either.

Then what are you saying?

You're kind of narrowing this down in a rather unreasonable way, aren't you?

No, I'm asking you what you mean and you won't answer. Probably because you think this is some kind of brilliant trap.

In any case, my point is simply this: you seem to know an awful lot about "guilds" and "paladins" and whatnot.

I know what "guilds" in WoW are because I had roommates in college who played a lot so I picked up what the term meant by osmosis.

Even if you don't have anything to do with WoW, I rather suspect that you engage in other games/activities that are in a similar vein.

Nope.

Am I wrong?

As usual, yes.

I find it interesting that though that you would assume that knowing what a "guild" is means I play MMOs. Logically, this means that since you know what they mean you play them or you wouldn't have made this assumption.

This lends credence to my theory that you still live at home with your parents, have a pathetic part-time job, are incredibly obese, and scream and throw fits when mom threatens to cut off your WoW account unless you get a 'real job'. Thanks for that at least.

If I got it wrong feel free to waddle over and offer correction.

Sure. That sounds believable.

Like I said, I never said anything about "MMOs."

"Waddle" over to where, Nehor?

To anyone but you it would. Then again I remember from your conversation with DCP that you find it a feat worthy of incredible boasting that someone should have friends with which whom they discuss their interests with so perhaps it's just your social awkwardness and inability to interact with people in the real world that leads you to this erroneous conclusion projected from your own experiences.

If so you have my pity.

Like I said, I never said anything about "MMOs."

Then in what context were you talking about guilds dumbass? The only other option I see is that you think I'm a time traveller from the Middle Ages. Feel free to offer another explanation for what I should have thought the term meant.

"Waddle" over to where, Nehor?

I may have been wrong, Simon. Only Doctor Scratch can say.

I agree with you Simon. I think that, in contemporary parlance, the combination of the words "guild" and the phrase "late at night" would most naturally conjure, from Beijing to New York, the image of World of Warcraft. Seeing, however, as I am not Doctor Scratch, and do not know his secret, inner thoughts, I am unable to say whether he intended to give that impression or not.

Then you are even dumber than Simon! Of course, I know you are not, but your frustration with Doctor Scratch is not helping you out, The Nehor.

Competing to be the best LDS apologist is like competing in the special Olympics.

Even if you win, you're still ... not very intelligent.

Even your lackeys/sockpuppets aren't coming up with another explanation....even a lame one to deflect criticism. Not doing very well here Scratch.

Well, Nehor, as I've indicated, I have reasons to doubt what you're saying.

Like I said, I never said anything about "MMOs."

No, there are all kinds of "guilds." And you seem like precisely the sort of chap who would be a member of such a thing. It needn't be WoW per se. I mean, maybe you're into Renaissance Fairs and that sort of thing, right?

"Waddle" over to where, Nehor?

To your computer or you can stop by my place if you'd like.

Do you really want me to stop by your place?

LOL. Nehor, you know very well that I am not a sock puppet of Doctor Scratch. It really does you no credit to lie.
