Indeed. They seem to have a very high sensitivity to conservative/libertarian oriented posters who foray too far into political territory (even when said forays are clearly gospel relevant) while allowing certain other posters with alternate political orientations to foray all they please.
Glen Beck/Limbaugh/Hannity bashing is also given substantial leeway, usually ending in the locking of threads, not bannings.
I don't know what Consig said to produce this reaction, but what I can say is that I've been threatened with banning, and been removed from participation in threads for reasons that are still as opaque to me now as when it occurred.
There is personal animus among some of the moderators there regarding certain individuals, as well as allowance for bendings of the rules for others within a particular intellectual orbit and who can produce advanced academic degrees as a kind of meal ticket (there is, yes, a whiff of intellectual class snobbery there, and always has been. Those with advanced degrees within a formal educational setting are always allowed a bit of benefit of the doubt over autodidacts).
Not understanding what the point in the mind of the mod who banned him is, however, I could only venture best guesses.
