Oh, come now, Droopy. You are capable of better.
Oh, much better, but Kevin is impossible to take seriously any longer, so I'm just on a roller coaster today, makin' up a mess of fun, just like the Banana Splits used to do.
Kevin is not red not "unsane," and even if he were, what would it have to do with the comments he makes regarding this trailer?
He's a left-wing populist demagogue who has openly attempted the rehabilitation and defense of the old Soviet dictatorship in this forum, as well as a purveyor of the most unbelievable unvarnished Marxist dogma of the kind I used to listen to on Radio Havana back in the eighties.
So we have issues...
I cannot imagine the Correlation Committee approving a film about Joseph Smith produced for mass consumption to include his firing the smuggled revolver into the Carthage crowd, regardless of how reasonable such actions may have been under the circumstances.
Uh huh...
I am guessing they would also not allow Joseph to be portrayed drinking some wine earlier that hot Illinois afternoon.
All of this is known to church members, generally speaking, but of course, the WoW was revealed and implemented in a series of phases and within a specific context that explains why Joseph and others continued to partake of alcoholic beverages intermittently after the initial revealing of the WoW.
And if Joseph does not record either of the First Vision personages as saying, "I am Jesus Christ," well, we all "know" that is who one of them was, and so why not do a little creative interpolation?
And?
The problem is this is the only Joseph Smith the Church will allow to be portrayed, but the real Joseph Smith and the real events (even as recorded by Joseph Smith!) are different.
Well, uh...no.
When Mormons figure out the discrepancy, they are left with the feeling of having been misled and deceived by the LDS Church.
If one needs a pretext, one will find it. This is one of the classics.
Is it not interesting, consig, how many of us at the MADboard saw you moving rapidly out of the Church a long time ago, and said so? And is it not interesting how you bristled at the notion that you were somehow in a process of apostasy?
