That Stone and Parker portray this in their musical is simply a reflection of real LDS culture.
The Nehor wrote:Funny how you morph the mishmash I described into 'real LDS culture'. Why?
One of the major difficulties I'm having is distinguishing between you pretending to be stupid just to get people off their guard, pretending to be stupid because you can't be bothered to think and wanted someone else to do it for you, pretending to be outrageously stupid to hide the fact that you actually don't understand what is going on, and really being genuinely stupid.
Can you clarify?
Wow... I cannot remember anyone on this board responding to one of my posts with such unwarranted maliciousness. I have purposely waited after reading your diatribe before responding to help ensure that I do so calmly.
I will attempt to clarify: you claimed that the Book of Mormon musical portrayed 'Africans' (as if this label means
anything of significance... Moroccans? Egyptians? Tanzanians? Angolans? Guineans? Zambians?) as a people who are miserable until they are provided with something which makes them happy. I pointed out that the LDS Church, in fact,
teaches that people can
gain happiness by joining their church and adhering to their teachings. How is this a slam on the Church? How is this stupid? How does my comment warrant the dismissive douchebaggery you've posted?
