Nice try, Harmony. I've been pretty clear on this, not that I expect anyone to read my posts out of obligation, but rest assured I do not think the gospel=the Church.

Nice try, Rambo. I don't think you have a clue what I've been up to over the years. Granted I haven't done much of that here, but I've done it many times in many venues.

That's cool and quite nice, Buffalo. I admit at first you seemed quite annoying to me, but not so much any more. As we grow we learn to appreciate others. I'm also not convinced you allow yourself to rationally look at these issues either. Many of the examples you use in your critiques are just going overboard.

I certainly didn't have Runtu in mind. To be fair to Runtu he has apologized for every thing, I can think of, that he ever did to me. I realize it takes a big man to do that--particularly since I'm so annonymous and, frankly, ineffective in these conversations. I mean very little int the game and its nice that even I am thought of enough by someone to warrant an apology. He's definitely a good person.

Well, consiglieri, I didn't expect you to read this little rant of mine, so I thought I'd get away with not mentioning you. Oh well, I've been busted.

I'll give a specific example - native American DNA. You take the fringe position, preferring remote possibility over the overwhelming probability from the entirety of the evidence, which yields a zero so far for any middle eastern migrations, pre-Columbus.

And your ability to admit that is part of what makes you a cool cat :)

You seem to be giving the same kind of excuse for gaining faith that a few critics give for losing faith. Interesting.

I certainly didn't have Runtu in mind. To be fair to Runtu he has apologized for every thing, I can think of, that he ever did to me.

Runtu apologies a lot for things he never really did. I am not aware that he has treated you unfairly.

No gaining faith, per se. Just resolve to my faith. you see, if my faith is bad, if my beliefs are pointless or unhelpful then I'd appreciate seeing what is the alternative. When the presented alternative appears to be nothing but misery I feel strengthened in my faith.

It still works out to be the same thing, and I think you see what you want to see. I can see both, and there are lots of very positives I see from former believers that you apparently cannot. To bad.

You mean "Too bad". Just playing around. I can see positives from former believers too. In some cases I choose to see the negatives they expose and say to myself, "that's not what i want". That's all.
