CSA wrote:There is no question that the brain acts differently when caffeine is ingested. Many claim that they can perform physically better, answer questions or solve problems quicker or even focus better when under the influence of caffeine.
While caffeine rushes blood to the Temporal lobes it does it at the expense of removing and possibly damaging the Frontal lobe. The temporal lobes at full stimulation causes individuals to speak quicker, remember things faster but the frontal lobe may in fact be critical in spirituality.
The frontal lobe is associated with reasoning, planning and emotions which very well may be three major and critical aspects to growing spiritually. I believe the damage being caused by caffeine to the prefrontal cortex can be reversed by withdrawal from these harmful substances. While the Word of Wisdom mentions physical benefits that may happen from following it, I believe the greatest benefits are spiritual.
Post ReferenceMartin Luther, the founder of Protestantism was, himself, banished. And yet his protests survived from 1517 and are the foundation for all protest religious views to Roman Catholicism which have followed.
As for your reference to “spirituality,” it pales in comparison to the myriad of various movements including Mormonism, a
very late entry to Protestant Reformation of Roman Catholicism.
Your reference to “caffeine” is mere trivia compared with the
evolution of the Protestant Reformation begun by Martin Luther, CSA.
You know not where of you speak or of the historical evolution of religious perspectives within the particular views of
Christianity over many centuries.
You will recall that the “Christ” of
Christianity turned water into wine. Caffeine aside, consumption of liquids is commensurate and historic in the evolution of life forms which include the human species.
Your view, CSA, is far too narrow to comport with the history of Christianity, let alone with the evolution of the human species. To illustrate, you state:
“I believe the damage being caused by caffeine to the prefrontal cortex can be reversed by withdrawal from these harmful substances.”Note, “I believe” for which you offer nothing by way of evidence stands as mere assertion. Hence, it carries no weight, no validity.
Your articulation reflects a most narrow and inaccurate notion of documented historical fact regarding the evolution of Christianity. While you use medical/scientific terms, you have no concept of
medicine or science.
As for your references to “spiritual,” you also demonstrate no concept of the breadth of what that notion reflects historically. What is “spiritual”? It’s a vague, non-descript notion of a vague, non-descript perception conceived in superstition and ignorance, CSA.
While my intention is not to insult you, you are insulated from knowledge regarding your “spiritual” claims referencing caffeine. “Spiritual” is a term of reference which merely reflects an emotional response.
“The brain” (as you characterize) responds in a variety of ways to various stimuli. For surgery, medical science renders people unconscious for a surgical procedure which would result in horrendous pain without anesthetic. While it is not “caffeine,” anesthetic(s) used in surgeries also alters the human brain’s response to stimuli. Caffeine is nothing compared with anesthetic used in surgery to maintain comfort and to render unconscious those upon whom surgical procedures are performed.
In short, you know not where of you speak in your general opposition to “caffeine” found in many drinks people fine pleasurable and even valuable. Medical science has not found moderate consumption of caffeine a specific or general threat.
Religious dogma contaminates facts and information.
