I don't know about James' White's ministry, and I'm not a donor so I don't have much inclination to write to him and ask him about it.

But an interesting site along those lines is MinistryWatch. It tracks how well ministries are disclosing their expenditures and awards them grades based on that. The Voice of Martyrs, Compassion International and Operation Christmas Child are some of the ministries I've supported in the past, and they all have As. Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world's largest Christian television network (of Paul & Jan Crouch fame), has an F. Here's their 2010 Donor Alert List.

They've never done a profile for Alpha & Omega ministries, but you could always request one.

You still haven't explained how that is harmful.

There is no need to be insulting. I have not been snarky to you.

Kind of like As You Like It where Shakespeare has a male actor dressing up as a female (Rosalind) who dresses up as a male and then pretends to be a female.

What a trip.

No, Liz, the ritual is not "symbolic" of the steps to godhood, it IS a step to godhood. I'm sorry that you didn't spend enough time in Sunday school to know what your church teaches.

I think that, in the case of the temple endowment, it qualifies as both.

Mormons are certainly taught receiving their endowment is an ordinance necessary to exaltation.

But the ordinance itself is a "cosplay" (thanks for teaching me the new word, by the way!) where acolytes advance from premortality through mortality and on through the kingdoms of glory to the celestial; and in that sense is very much symbolic of the steps to godhood.

If it stopped at the terrestrial, it probably wouldn't be.

The former is taught in Sunday school. The latter pretty much not.

I never said it was harmful.

You asked how it was "negative."

Yup. It's not "pretend" or "cosplay." It is real.

I am sorry you have no idea what the LDS church teaches or how it operates.

According to Brigham Young, as quoted in official LDS curricula, the endowment is learning the signs and tokens that will get you past the angels who are guarding the way to heaven.

I guess we can infer from this that angels are Freemasons.

I know, Simon. It is all too real. Heaven is just going to be filled to the brim with Mormons and Freemasons---the two groups who know how to get past those angels guarding the way.

Are you sure you were LDS once? You have absolutely no clue what we teach, and you demonstrate it with each passing post.
