I have to agree with you and Quasi. Murray is toast. Dropped on the floor, butter side down, toast.

With Dr. Murray's salary, he could have bought and had on hand an AED or vial or two of epinepherine or other emergency drugs. Or, why didn't he refer Jackson to or consult a physician specializing in sleep disorders (assuming he did not)?
in my opinion, Michael Jackson was very selfish to have put Murray in such a situation to begin with and bears a lot of the responsibility himself.

The jury begins deliberation tomorrow. My best guess is that they will reach a verdict before the close of business tomorrow.
And it will be "guilty".

The use of Propofol outside of a surgical environment alone, is enough to toast his biscuits.
Using a powerful surgical anesthesia outside of a hospital setting is reason enough to take away a doctor's licence and put him away for a while.
He knew what he was doing. I have no sympathy.

While using propofol outside of an OR might get your medical license taken away (and its highly debatable at that), a doctor prescribing it and using it in and of itself is actually not criminal. In fact propofol isn't even a scheduled drug by the FDA while Ketamine, a significantly less potent GA is actually a class III scedualed drug (mostly because you can trip balls with it)
Though what murry did was most definitely criminal negligence.

Yep. A reasonable verdict. Now, the question is, should he serve prison time? He will lose his ability to practice in this country. My guess is that he would have lost his licence regardless of the verdict.
He has been found guilty of man slaughter for reckless use of an inappropriate drug. Should he go to prison or just be given years probation?

Wow, I don't know how to answer this. I heard (radio) that the max he could get would be 6 months. Apparently the prisons in CA are overcrowded just as Brackite informed us.
If I had my way, I would drop him into Gen Pop and let nature take it's course. But even if he serves prison time, he would not be put in Gen Pop, he would be considered a "keep away" prisioner.
Losing his license to practice in this country sounds best, however, what would prevent him from obtaining a med license in another country?
Unfortunately, probably nothing.
What I'm wondering is whether or not the Jackson family has a civil suit up their sleeve.
What say you, Quasi?
