Shades
Moderators always use red text, never blue text. So Aristotle Smith himself wrote that, not a moderator.

Sleep tight.

Shades, I don't think there are mod comments on every post that is moved. Can we go back to doing that as SOP?

Okay.

What does Aristotle Smith mean by aspergers interference? I have heard that those experiencing asperger's syndrome have trouble with non-verbal cues, so I am left wondering if this is some sort of sub rosa attack on Dr. Shades due to the lack of smileys on this forum.

Perhaps Stakhanovite was alerting us to some fiendish plot against Dr. Shades before its fruition!

Stak,

I just remembered the post that Aristotle made. It was a made up email address that was actually a message.

I don't think I reported that post.

So what? So posts get moved to a different forum sometimes for what moderators perceive as rule breaking. The posts are still around. I see no reason whatsoever to be concerned about this.

As someone who regularly gets his posts moved, I have to say that I totally agree... with... someone.

What are we talking about again? My indifference made me forget.

No.

The forum “rules” are so pliable that there is a virtual cornucopia of reasonable interpretations that result from it. It’s aggravating to posters because there doesn’t seem to be any consistency on what is acceptable and not acceptable on any given forum. The end result is similar to roulette, we don’t know what side of the line a post is on, because it all depends on who gets to it first.

I used to play a lot of indoor soccer while in college. Like all sports but in particular ones where the referees were as amatuer as the people playing, every game included calls that were inconsistent and sometimes even lop-sided. Some games more than others, but it's the nature of sport.

We invited a friend to play with us for a couple of seasons. The reason we stopped inviting him was because he would stop playing and throw a huge fit every time he thought he was given a bad call. Only the game didn't stop for him to bitch so we'd end up playing a man down while he fumed about the call. We literally had to carry him off the field once because he would not keep playing and got a red card for yelling at the ref when the game was very close.

I've never known a sport where the calls were always consistent or predicable. I've never known the best of the competitors to stop playing to bitch about them, either.

I think your OP brings up a good point. I just don't see it being anything more than the nature of the game.

Now, I DID wonder why your "ground floor" post was moved. That was easily the best post in that thread in skimming though it recently. But then, I was taking the express elevator down that particular OP anyway when I first read it so maybe I missed the real value in the OP but was struck by how appropriately funny your second post was. Oh well.

Since we have the ability to get all the refs on the same page, maybe we can tighten up the rules to make things a little more consistent, that is what I’m aiming for. If this makes things a little more stricter, or a little more free, I can live with either, I just hate being in limbo concerning where a post belongs and where it doesn’t.

I love Moderating by proxy. You can see a certain [deleted] poster doing it now for her friend.

Blech.

Terrible.

Christians are so forgiving and charitable. You can see it here. *Gotta beat up the beat!*
