Doctor Scratch wrote:Ceeboo's right, Liz. You're fixating on the fact that I somehow got the information. And how important is that, exactly? You've said yourself that the board's demise was a result of "contention." Well, as the threads I quoted clearly show, that contention was well under way prior to me posting anything.

It is important to me, Scratch. Turn this around. Remember how nuts you felt when you discovered that someone had tried to hack into your site that you created?

OK...that is where I'm at. Why can't you just do me this favor? Tell me....once and for all...difinitively...How did you get the information? Tell me in no uncertain terms and I will let this drop.

Do you want to hear that I learned something from all of this?

Fine. I did.

I was wrong to create the site...to trust the people I invited there...and I was wrong to let things get out of hand. Is that what you want to hear?

The site is gone, Scratch.

Just give me this piece of information. Since you started this whole messy thread, I think that is the least you can do.

I'm not going to tell you, Liz.

Because, Liz, you're just enmeshed in this whole dumb DCP demonology and you've decided to fixate on an issue that's completely tangential to the reasons why this "meltdown" happened in the first place.

Listen to your friends. Follow your own advice.

This has nothing to do with DCP. It has everything to do with my website being violated by you.

Thank you, Scratch, for showing your true colors, out an proud for everyone to see.

Now...I am really done.

Lol. Sheesh. So, are you choosing now? I.e., that I "violated" it? You certain about that? Or was it your community members who "betrayed" you? And why was it that this all happened, Liz?

I don't know, Scratch. You refuse to tell me. Are YOU now claiming that one of my community members shared the information with you? It really is a simple question, Scratch. Why are you so evasive?

IF one of my community members did share the information with you, yes, I can speculate on why this all happened. I do, however, think it is a shame that this person felt more comfortable handing the information over to you rather than coming to me.

I think that there were a lot of better ways that differences could have been handled.

The main thing I have learned out of all of this is that I was too trusting.

Liz, for what it is worth.
I felt slighted that you would start up a board and restrict it's participants and contributions from the outset - what you were in reality trying to create was a Facebook page (perhaps that's an option for you with what you wish to achieve).
I can understand that you perhaps want a place where there is more moderation on language and ad hom's etc but not to the extreme where it is just a powder puff faith promotion exercise (like MAD).
What you created was a pulpit for DCP to use for his own ends of preaching without challenge. When that went belly up because you had misjudged the character and sentiment of posters that you had personally invited, in my opinion, your board got what your board deserved.

To call Scratch on using secret means in exposing a site that was set up secretly, is hypocrisy. You played spy games to create the site and you got 'double agented'. That was a risk that you took (nobody forced you) and your gamble didn't pay off. Take it on the chin, dust yourself off and move on. Set your Facebook page up - it will achieve EXACTLY what I think you were trying to achieve and you have full control over content and contributers.

Just my opinion, which I acknowledge is tainted by the fact that you didn't invite me (Given the purpose of the site, as I understand it, I probably wouldn't have invited me either!).

I have a third option, one which I thought was silly when it first occurred to me, but, the more I consider it, the more feasible it seems.

The person who posts as Scratch also posts as someone else, and has for a very long time. And that second "identity" was invited to liz's site all along.

Scratch is a gifted writer, with control over his style. I can easily imagine him pulling it off.

We may never know, but I'd love to know if I'm right. It would be fascinating.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Cue the list of posters who will now declare: "I am Scratch!"
by the way, I am not!
