Science isn't offered as an alternative to God.
Could you point out where I suggested that science is used as an alternative to a God/Creator?
Science is offered to explain the evidence of the world around us. That's it.
"That's it" (?)
I was under the impression that science is used for a great deal of things across an entire spectrum.
Why did I say this was at the root of at least several problems in your thinking?
I don't know why you suggest that.
You have chosen to maintain an allegiance to your God beliefs.
Perhaps we all have our allegiances, yes?
By proposing that science is an alternative to God,
I don't recall proposing that science is an alternative to anything.
This puts you at the disadvantage of making you not amenable to facts, evidence, valid argumentation, and so forth.
I would suggest that the Big Bang is not a fact, or evidence. It is a thoery (perhaps right) that has enormous challenges/problems.
If you are wrong, your choice puts you in the position of being unable ever to know it, because you will have rendered yourself incapable of properly judging the evidence and arguments that should reveal this fact to you.
Was it you that I enjoyed a steak with last week?
If it was, you never thanked me for picking up the tab. :)
Really gotta run. As always, a pleasure to read you, Seth.
Peace,
