I'm surprised Holland wasn't better prepared to deal with the questions he was asked. Honestly, Joseph Smith didn't know Egyptian nor could he read and translate it. Holland and company should just acknowledge that. If the Book of Abraham is true, it must be an origin story and could not possibly have come from translating any Egyptian papyrus.

Yes, and that is just as stupid. The papyrus recovered was not old enough to have been written by the hand of Abraham (nor could it have been). I wish these men were interested in the truth instead of sticking their collective heads in the sand.

And thus we see that the word of God translations in Mormonism is a bunch of nonsense. The word of God Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 have scientifically been proven to be utterly false and invalid. There is nothing the Mormon church can do to save the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3. A lie is a lie, period. Anyone with half a brain can figure that out. It's the liars and cheats that simply deny it and hide their heads in the sand. This is how the world can really see how the leaders of Mormonism are living a lie and deceiving their flock with nonsense.

Mormon apostles are like the head of a poisonous snake wondering about a garden with innocent tots playing about. They really are liars and men of no class. They are yes men who have only learned how to kiss ass and make numbers look good. They wear nice looking suits and ties and this helps them look respectable but they really are liars and cheats and are simply out trying to deceive others to believe the Book of Abraham as if it really was translated by God. How sick. Liars!

I'm not sure this helps Holland 'The Lying Dodo' quite as much as you think it does...

For an Apostle Holland didn't know a lot about where his religion came from.

1. Didn't know about the temple death oaths (until he did).
2. Didn't know what the Strengthening the Church Members Committee does (once it became clear that the BBC knew exactly what it did).
3. Didn't know Hyrum's Book of Mormon wasn't in his hand whilst claiming it was.
4. Didn't know Joseph Smith was convicted of 'glass looking'.

And...

5. Doesn't know what 'vehicle' was used to produce the Book of Abraham despite the fact that Joseph Smith explicitly stated that it was a translation of the papyrus upon which Abraham had written with his own hand. This fact is stated, explicitly in Hollands own Pearl of Great Price.

I know he says he's not a dodo, but if something looks like a dodo, acts like a dodo, and talks like a dodo, chances are...

Yes, "glass looking for hire". JSJr may have been a small time fraud in 1826, the year when he was brought before a court where witnesses gave testimony under oath and the charges not dismissed. Testimony about having JSJr having separated land owners from some of their money, with promises that JSJr could find treasures buried long before on their lands. But take heart, JSJr blossomed into a big time fraud by the 1830s Kirtland era.

JSJr's was certainly a marvelous work and a wonder.

Not the point, which actually is about Hollands lack of knowledge about the religion in which he holds high office and to which he has been an adherent for many decades.
His lack of knowledge (and honesty) has been obvious for a long time.

Frankly I think his making up the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 are worse. And the translation papers involving the Book of Abraham have fraud written all over them. He was a lying prophet who made things up as he went along.

I've always despised Holland - even before I finally made the decision to have my name removed.
