God talks to everyone Chap. You just have to be willing to listen. And it is not a matter of being sorry. It's a matter of being prepared. You will meet God and you can't avoid it.

What a bunch of non sequitur tripe! You want proof. You can talk to God today to get it. The problem is that most of you won't humble yourselves to the point to receive an answer. In the end, it won't matter. You'll have your proof in time when you stand before God and are shown all these things.

We can find most of the places listed in the Bible. Why can't we find even one Book of Mormon city?

I wonder how Tobin is sure that the voice in his head is 'God' (by which he presumably means The Deity Formerly Known As Yahweh, TDFKAY for short, rather than Marduk or Erzulié)?

I mean, it would not be enough if the voice just said 'Hi Tobin, God speaking'. It could be anyone or anything masquerading as TDFKAY, couldn't it? Or it could just be that Tobin is on the wrong medication: it happens to a lot of people.

I hope that Tobin doesn't apply his 'use your intelligence and reason to work it out' test here: that would seem really risky in dealing with an entity that is supposedly the creator of time and space, and has (if scripture is any guide) asked people to do some really counter-intuitive things in the past.

We've probably found all of them. We just don't know it yet.

And again, we're back to

"That is one of the beautiful things about Mormonism. It has always been proven true in the studies that have not been written, research that has not been conducted and archeological evidence that has not been dug."

But there's no evidence that any city found thus far is in any way associated with a group from Palestine that worshiped Christ.

So there is no way that a living person can be sure that the voice in their head is 'God' (Tobin's term for TDFKAY)?

And what if there are conflicting voices? (No. let's not go there.)

Sounds like Tobin will have to wait till he is dead too before he knows whether he simply had a wrong number.

Not much use from a practical point of view, is it?

Yep, it's called faith. It is kind of a requirement. You need some to believe in this whole God thing.

Errm, I think Tobin has forgotten that the topic is MesoAmerican archeology?
