Are you saying you are the one behind the restore FARMS effort? If so, I'm disappointed in you.
I hope you're joking.

John Kammeyer I was keeping it terse, the whole thing requires much more thought and analysis than can be provided on a blog. I made a suggestion, not a criticism of the Church. However, we are where we are because FARMS accepted the offer to join BYU. The past is gone, let us not refight it, let us move on to what needs to be done now.

Restore the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies It does not matter if it was a "good" invitation. FARMS was an independent organization, and could do what they thought best. In hindsight, it probably was not best for FARMS. Trying to twist this, with the "loyalty" talk, to make it look as if we're against the prophet or the Brethren will not work. You might be interested to know that the entire board of FARMS at the time of the BYU merger unanimously voted to against it. Most were BYU faculty.

Michael G. Reed John, you made a suggestion indeed. And your *suggestion* was that you should say "no" to a prophet's *suggestion.* The "Restore the Foundation" likes this idea... and maintains that your suggestion should be followed... because, as was said above, "It does not matter if it was a 'good' invitation [from the prophet]." I appreciate both of your transparency. My suggestion to those who have previously "liked" this page, is to reconsider whether it is worth liking after all.
