So....do you think most members don't even know about this future temple site?
How many members do you think even know about the "future grand council where Jesus Christ will meet with His stewards of all dispensations and receive back the keys of the kingdom in preparation for His Second Coming"? Is this still discussed at all?
I almost find it odd that the church still has this information on their temple website.
My guess is that the Brighamites pretty much abandoned the original cause and reason for
the Adam-ondi-Ahman Temple, the Far West Temple and the Jackson County Temple, when
the relocated to Utah.
Over the years the LDS concept of "the literal gathering of Israel" has deteriorated greatly
from what it was in 1830-1839. No longer do the Mormons think in terms of having all the
Tribes of Israel gather around two great temples, one in Jerusalem and one in "Zion."
For the Mormons, "Zion" is no longer Jackson County -- and Daviess County and Caldwell
County are no longer the skirts of the tent of Zion.
Ask an uneducated Mormon today, where "Zion" is, and he will most likely say "Utah."
Oh, Zion, dear Zion,
Home of the free,
Soon thy towers will shine
With a splendor divine,
And eternal thy glories shall be
Oh well...

I suppose the church has given up on the teaching. Then again, it would be poor for me to assume anything.
by the way, its nice to see you posting UD. I miss having your insight over on the other board.
