I wholeheartedly agree. The idea of expending the Herculean effort required to--gasp!--click on a link instead of having it auto-display is almost more than I can bear. In fact, it's so devastating that I'm an inch away from curling up in the fetal position and rocking to and fro on the floor in a semi-catatonic state.

I don't know if this is part of the reason, but I've seen a couple things posted that we're pretty out there. (Once a cartoon depiction of rape). I doubt Shades came to the decision lightly.

It's the other way around: The contents of PMs are off-limits for board discussion. (In other words, this rule can't be used to retroactively shut down a conversation that's already underway.)

Because we learned through hard experience that when only one party posted his or her own PMs, the other party was obliged to post his or her own PMs too in order to give his or her side, when that second party probably wished to keep the conversation confidential, which completely obviated the point of having the rule in the first place. Another way it obviates the rule is that even one side granting permission causes the board to devolve into "PMDiscussions.com" instead of "MormonDiscussions.com," which is another big thing the rule was meant to prevent.

If you want to know the contents of a private message or series of private messages, then send a PM to the originator or receiver of the private message(s) and have him or her copy-and-paste them to you.

4. I don't care. The whole thing, as is.

In socialism (You know, Hungary WAS a socialist country), there were three categories for artists. The three T. (Támogatás, Tűrés, Tiltás. In English: sponsorship, allowance, prohibition). As You see, the "Principle of Three T" can not be translated to English...
The ONLY disadvantage was: there were no boundaries drawn.
The artists should TRY to overstep the boundaries to detect - then draw for themselves - for them. All who failed become pariahs or niggahs.
