Here is a little song that seems to typify the mid-60's and this short from the movie that expresses the words rather well.. :ugeek: The Seekers Georgy Girl > http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=geo ... 7864CAA56E

Leslie Gore passed away yesterday. I think it would be fitting if we remember the Ordain Women's theme song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDUjeR01wnU

This is a record I actually own. It is an early Victor Orthophonic (electric) recording by Paul Whitman from 1925. I love it because it is happy-go-lucky and I can imagine Rose from Downton Abbey doing a great Charleston or Black Bottom. Sweet and Low-Down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGfbWcrHJ3E
I'd play it on a Victrola floor model and then I'd play some Moody Blues ---- my music tastes have always ran rather eclectic. :ugeek: ------ As if you hadn't noticed!

I don't know how long this site will last but this is unbelievable and it's worth checking out this very, very, very, rare machine. You may never get an opportunity to see one ever again... Scan down and you can actually hear a see this thing in action :surprised: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-JUKEBOX ... 3f47c790d9

Just in case you didn't realize it, this machine is not electric, it is acoustic and runs by a mainspring.

I call this song "tongue & cheek" an ode to scientific circle reasoning. :ugeek: Spike Jones' "None but the Lonely Heart" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTj6-BFROVo

I like the "Star Trek" touch ---- could this 1949 recording be where they got the idea for that theme music? We may never know ----but that kazoo certainly sounds like it...

I really like that song and Bobby Darin also did a version of it (English of course). This is another pretty song that sometime made me shed a tear even though I was a little boy when it came out. I do like Debbie Reynolds. It a shame they don't seem to make ballads like this today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYymDZtJvgs
