It seems a bit bizarre to recall that specific detail, I mean how many friends would she have to remember how many likes and from whom. Dunno, she's got a good memory.
On the otherhand, if you go back to the John Dehlin is a rockstar narrative promoted in the Rosebud thread, and I can imagine this in my own life, ie, if I had posted some photos of myself in speedos and RFM liked them I would remember this. And then, would be absolutely cheep thrills through the roof if he subsequently un-liked and then re-liked them. I would remember because of his importance in my life, or in general.
Final caveat: Since John Dehlin is in the cross hairs, and an easy target, very open to the fact that it's all idle gossip.
LOL. OK. Well, that says something, I suppose. I agree that John being quasi-important in a small pond attracts all kinds of notice and manipulation.
Oh, if I were dreaming of being on Mormon Stories . . . . (and I am not)
And I get close to the person who runs it . . . (and I haven't)
And I post pictures of myself that look like they are fishing for compliments from friends and family . . . (and I generally don't)
And then the big popular person I hope to interview with likes some sexy pics . . .
And then unlikes them and relikes them . . . .
And I go to ask my friends, "What do you suppose that was about?"
And they come up with some creeper interpretation.
And I believe them because what else would JD like, unlike, and like sexy pictures for?
So I gather together my online lynch mob to register my disgust and moral outrage.
And then when one of my circle is looking for further ammo against this guy who is obviously a cretin . . .
I say, "Sure, sounds great! He totally deserves it."
There are so many levels there where I don't connect with this person.
But then I don't know this person.
And I won't know this person.
And I think it is probably for the best that we ignore anonymous accusations with incomplete information from people we don't know.
