I've already come up with the solution that works for me. I'll post it again, after already having done so multiple times:
I have created a DMZ for myself which I will not cross. I don't have anyone on ignore, including the poster who made these comments. But I will not in any way, shape, or form have anything to do with or have anything to say to this poster from here on out. Directly or indirectly. That is a commitment which I make for all to see and understand. I do feel bad that this situation escalated to where it has. For me, the best thing to do is create a personal space between myself and this poster. I don't think he will have any concerns in regards to having to engage in further 'warfare'.
That's not where I want to go.
I posted this on Wednesday. The poster in question left afterwards. I don't understand/know why this particular solution wouldn't have been amenable to him.
In addition to the concepts of priming/propaganda/memes, I mentioned previously on this thread, it is interesting to observe the snowball effect. Once the snowball starts down the hill and picks up momentum and size, there seems to be no stopping it.
I'm sorry to see that there are some other posters, who I personally like to read, that are 'joining the club', so to speak, and are deciding to leave. There will be a noticeable loss if that occurs.
I do have to agree with the poster in this thread that mentioned that they put a another poster on ignore. If there was one person that I would put on ignore, if I was to do so at this time, it would be that particular poster who was referred to, and for good reason. A lot of the priming/propaganda and meme production can be traced to this person and and also indirectly those who enable this individual to do so without stepping up and putting a stop to it.
