What Obama did wasn't abnormal or unprecedented. Roughly 30% of all ambassadorship appointments are political appointments. Qualifications for an ambassador aren't as stringent as they are for a Federal judges. Also, Ambassadors typically serve for 3 years, whereas a judge is a judge for life. The man Trump picked is an absolute moron when it comes to basic law, but you're cool with him being a judge for life. He was picked because he was young, religious and he's a die-hard Republican. We were just coming off of a Republican Presidency. You do know how American elections work, correct?
