Giving Nelson credit for pandemic prophecy over "home-centered" church is a laughable farce that doesn't withstand even a few minutes of scrutiny.
That announced change in mid 2018 capped years, many years, of agonizing data review, test programs, surveys, feedback, focus groups and beta testing. Two hour church had been rumored since at least 2011 in my home ward, based on first-hand accounts of trial periods of 2 hour church windows around the country.
"Home-centered, church-supported" was, is, and always will be a marketing slogan attached to a human-researched response to waning attendance and growing inactivity -- particularly among youth.
Associating it with a prophetic pandemic preview is the height of cherry picking and lazy learning.

It's the type of thing that a rich charitable organization could come up with themselves without too much thought. But I suspect access to the interweb for the masses is the last thing Russell M. Nelson and LDS inc. wants.
This was on his global ministry tour in latin america, I wonder how this was translated. When you're a prophet, you really need to be precise with your words, because there will always be some who will take what you say at face value.Of course he (and I) did not mean literally take vitamins. I suspect you knew that, but are trying to discover potshots and sucker punches wherever you can.
I find Russell M. Nelson a compelling and remarkable person as any in the secular world. As a prophet, he's about as unremarkable as they come.

The height? Are you often prone to hyperbole?Dr Moore wrote:

My exceedingly high picking of fruits from trees matches the exceedingly low "god should just have made the pandemic disappear" lazy understanding of how god and prophecy works.

It's "milquetoast" by the way.Philo Sofee wrote:oh gawd.... so generic, so banal and so unprophetic. Had he bothered to warn about a world wide plague? THAT would have been a prophecy. Of course, you know this. Your milktoast expectation of prophets is perfectly equal with their own milktoast knowledge of the future.

You offered the prophecies but after a couple of questions it appears you are punting. Doesn't sound like you have much faith at all that the prophet speaks to God.Sledge wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 11:14 pmCertainly you can ponder on these things yourself without me leading you from point a to b to c.dastardly stem wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 11:02 pmWhat would be the difference in he did not say home-centered and let people cut it to 2 fours? How do you know believers wouldn't have been better off if he didn't say home-centered and let them cut it 2 hours?
Still feels like you're joking. As I recall his eat your vitamins comment was nor a literal instruction. And could there be healthier people who do not take vitamins then some who do?

Typical and a reminder why I put you on ignore. Back on the list. You won’t engage the content because you can’t.Sledge wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 11:54 pmThe height? Are you often prone to hyperbole?Dr Moore wrote:
