Are you being serious?

I suspect its even worse than that. Subbie saw the post and thought, "Ha! that will rile up the conservative base and get them out to vote so the liberals can't take over Congress!"
The implication being conservatives have been forced onto their back foot by all of the negative press about Trump. As subbie called it a counterpunch the further implication is that this blow being struck off of the conservative back foot serves to remind anyone thinking the onslaught is legit that the media lies so they shouldn't worry about what the media is saying. In subbie land, he decided a million people in the US were persuaded by that meme to either vote Republican who might not have otherwise, or get Republican voters to the polls who might have been feeling like they had other things to do that day.
What subbie is most guilty of, though, is projecting his own view onto the majority of people and asserting that the higher truths that cause him to be unbreakably anti-liberal are all that matter to most people as well. But I'd argue more people are like Jersey Girl than any of the rest of us. Jersey Girl seems to be someone who, while having primarily conservative values and can get caught up in the immediate reaction to a post nonetheless takes the truth content of whatever she is consuming from the media into account. She has expressed frustration over the lack of clarity in news media which is common. And the most common reaction, and the one negative campaigners hope to accomplish, is to tune out or not participate. I don't think Jersey Girl is a non-participant, to be clear. I'm just pointing out she is our closest analog to how I think most people approach elections compared to subbie, EA, Kevin Graham or the majority of people who post here in Spirit Paradise. We're not representative. Neither is the Spirit Prison crowd.
