In other words, a middle class American can more easily afford to own a house and a couple of cars in what seemingly are RED states as opposed to BLUE states (which is ultimately the clumsy and juvenile topic you are trying to approach here...some sort of backhanded insult that poorest states must somehow equal "stupid voter").
So maybe ask what the electoral implications are when a house in a BLUE market has average costs of over $200 sq.ft. while in a RED market it costs barely over $100 sq.ft.

Economics is not simply a measure of income you dolt - it also relates to consumption...and consumption inequality (and tax rates) is something BLUE minded people like yourself often ignore when measuring "poor-ness".
So, the REALITY is that RED states are actually "richer" if you take another measure instead of the narrow-minded flame-baiting measure that you are trying to allude to in your OP....geez.

I know you are an idiot barely worth responding to, I can't mock you any worse than nature already has, but this is some of the stupidest crap I have ever read AND I have an hour to kill in this lounge before heading back to the US so...Your insanely shallow understanding of economics, buying power, real wages, "consumption" (lol) and what drives the economies and various financial advantages of different states (as if whole states can be treated as one homogeneous unit) is so lacking that its no wonder you are a stay at home Costanza.

I guess its also just a coincidence that the list in the OP heavily overlaps with the list of the states with the highest percentage of people on food stamps? Must be all that extra consuming and buying power! What was it you were saying about income inequality in "blue states"?

https://www.hungerfreeamerica.org/blog/trump-voting-states-most-utilize-snap-food-stamps

My guess is you have no fooking idea what different measures of income inequality mean or how certain industries and urban centers actually affect the inequality statistics in states that also have a large rural population.

Or, as in your case, it could just be both. Simple and stupid are not mutually exclusive. But hey:

ETA - This line definitely needed to be highlighted. "another measure" - lol.

That is pure gold straight from the mind of someone who has never left the holler they were raised in...

I spent 5 months on a project in Birmingham several years ago. You're right; the humidity is killer. Thing is, by the time the project was over, I was used to it. You can get used to just about anything.

But if you want to see the Packers or drink Spotted Cow beer, you're SOL, so there's that.

I live in a temperate climate, so I get a taste of Alabama every year and it is brutal. I am not built for it. One of the reasons that Alabama has such a high obesity rate is that people stay in air conditioned environments to beat the heat. For real.

My ideal weather is mid to late fall all the time. So I could live in a red state like Wyoming weather wise. I’d still have a problem lacking amenities. Living next to a major university, for instance, brings in opportunities I like.

I was on vacation recently and stayed in Rapid City. They apparently have a decent sized Nepalese community and as a result some awesome Nepali food. That’s one of my favorite cuisines and made my like of the town go up several fold. Great bike trails too. Stuff like that matters to me. Yolo.

Well, that and their long tradition of deep frying everything they eat.

I plan to drive through Rapid City when we move out west. Probably be my only chance to check out SD (gotta see Rushmore).

I'm finding as I get older, I'm preferring cooler areas. I consider this phenomenon counter intuitive. I always figured I'd want to end up in a place like Florida, but the Pacific Northwest sounds like a much better bet. Too much heat saps my energy like nothing else does.

Have you ever lived in Alabama? It's absolutely one of the most beautiful states I've ever lived in. I owned property down in the Gulf Shores, I was stationed in Northern Alabama, home of NASA, and can say Huntsville was hands down one of the more charming cities I've resided in. Whatever people think about Alabama, the public consciousness so to speak, is wrong. It's just a fantastic place to live.

I had great times and met great people during the years i lived in Florence, Alabama....and don't forget, EA doesn't have to go to Alabama to profess expertise about Alabama.

Yet here you are and yes you will, masturbatory entrance and all...when you crawl up here with your Popeye-esqu forearms, we all know 2 things - you're butt-hurt and butt-headed. You are a veritable poster-child of self control....well, a poster child at the very least.

You had me at "I can't mock you"...which, as prophesied, came true.

Cool....a well thought out critique is so refreshing for you...especially if you don't have much time to ponder stuff.

schreech wrote: AND I have an hour to kill in this lounge before heading back to the US

Oh, this took you an hour?...now i feel like a heckler at the Special Olympics....but thanks for keeping the masturbation going with making sure we all know you are at a lounge in another country....how continental you are....bet you are wearing an ascot, eh?

schreech wrote:so...Your insanely shallow understanding of economics, buying power, real wages, "consumption" (lol) and what drives the economies and various financial advantages of different states

Yes, because a real depth of economics is where the OP set the bar with its "this morning in USA Today" post.

schreech wrote: (as if whole states can be treated as one homogeneous unit)

Take that AussieGuy....stupid OP.

schreech wrote: is so lacking that its no wonder you are a stay at home Costanza.

Aww, jealous much?

schreech wrote:I guess its also just a coincidence that the list in the OP heavily overlaps with the list of the states with the highest percentage of people on food stamps?

3 places in America have the highest rate of food stamps...the only 3 to come in at over a 20 percent rate. Mississippi, New Mexico, and Washington D.C.
That is 2 BLUE and 1 RED. See how that works? Now go back to your monkey and give it yet another spanking for being so bad...so much monkey spanking you do.

I was saying that Blue states have seen the fastest rise and have the greatest occurrence of income inequality...its based on those things you avoid like septoplasty....facts.

schreech wrote:My guess is you have no fooking idea what different measures of income inequality mean or how certain industries and urban centers actually affect the inequality statistics in states that also have a large rural population.

You could guess that, and why not? you mostly guess on your posts anyway...at least in-between drools.

Correct, they are not, except they can be...like in the context of the OP and my response; and, of course, the context of your left hand versus your right hand.
Thanks for coming by Schreech, tell Perry Farrell we all said hello, and let us know when your eyesight clears up (for the love of all that is economic - stop before you go blind).

Alabama is hot and humid compared to Wisconsin.

Subgenius - Oh my god. Where did you get the expertise to claim that? Are you some kind of scientician? Know it all. Anyway here’s some more BS economic claims I just made up because the slightest negative comment about my political identity gives me a headache.

expertise to claim what exactly?...i am not sure i claimed anything, just regurgitated some known facts and relied upon some educated opinion....ya know? all that stuff that is vulgar to Schreech.

Jesus Christ a sentence by sentence break down of me mocking and humiliating you. You really are insecure and enjoy getting degraded. Christ. I swear, the amount of time you fantasize about me masturbating is really disturbing, I mean, like pathological. The first thing you think about when getting humiliated and mocked is beating off. I get that you look like a cross between a mentally challenged Balki and Sid the sloth but, dude, you should really find a better sexual release than indulging your overly needy humiliation fetish here. Like I said, nature has mocked you more ruthlessly than I will ever be able to but it does entertain me occasionally.

Dude, you are even stupider than I gave you credit for (and I think you are, literally, among the top 10 stupidest people I have ever interacted with). Without understanding the data in any way, without understating basic ecomomics, finance, real wage data, why red states tend to have the highest % of people on govt assistance or even how or why the economic centers of america being located in blue states affects data coming out of those states, you trundle ignorantly into this thread (and pretty much every thread on this forum to make sure nobody doubts your idiocy, at all times) and ramble on about "income inequality" (which you obviously don't understand) and "Facts" (all while providing no facts or even demonstrating a remedial understanding of the issue in your blind attempt to defend "red" states). Not shocking from a mouth breather like yourself but:

Again, Im just going to leave this gem here:

subgenius wrote:So, the REALITY is that RED states are actually "richer" if you take another measure instead of the narrow-minded flame-baiting measure that you are trying to allude to in your OP.

LOL. the REALITY is you are so out of touch with REALITY that its impossible to even respond to the nonsense you post. For Christ sake, get out of the crap hole you live in occasionally, travel, interact with people outside your self imposed bubble of stupidity and ignorance, stop fantasizing about me masturbating, try something new you old ass loser...Im rooting for you big guy! I have hope that even you can overcome being the "simple" unoriginal tool you project here....

I dunno. I've been to all of the above. Most of those are gorgeous states though I wasn't particularly fond of what I saw of Arkasas. Money doesn't make a state better. The people and natural environment do.

Jersey has money coming out of it's freaking eyeballs. I wouldn't live there permanently again if you made me.
