Your choice — as a qualified 501(c)(3), Interpreter it is. Please watch for an email at your BYU address from my pseudonym with additional information to aid in tracking the donation.
I am torn by seeing a second charity named. Perhaps unintentionally, you tasked me with choosing between them. I would personally always choose the latter. Alleviating child suffering, in all forms, is arguably the most worthy charitable cause on earth.
Therefore, I propose the following: I will direct a second $1,000 donation to the Bountiful Children’s Foundation. Consider it a nod to a Kiwi57, even though it appears he opted — magnanimously — not to link an apology to the apology-donation deal. Does that sound appropriate and acceptable?
As for the $10k donation deal, yes! Perhaps it’s overboard, but charitable giving hardly qualifies as a bad faith proposition. I laid out terms of that donation in a previous post, but let’s clarify now that we are talking about it.
The spirit of the deal is simply a goal to ratchet down the negative personal chatter. One can never control what others say online, but one can choose to let it go or even ignore it.
Who knows if this experiment will accomplish anything sustainable. I hope it does.
Shall we agree that the $10k is in your hands to distribute to worthy causes on fulfillment of the following terms?
1. No derogatory mention of Dr. Shades board, or its members, through end of Feb. 2020. By yourself, and as host of this site, by your good faith effort to moderate such comments by others here.
2. Nothing in the deal limits your range to express conviction on and debate issues of interest.

Dr. Moore, I've tried to stay out of your deal as it really isn't my place to give an opinion. If nothing else, you've shown that you error on the side of generosity, while the apologists kick and scream to meet minimal standards. And it only helps me, as I also want to see the Witnesses film get made so that I can review it. I mean, really, you're giving them an object lesson in how to walk the higher path.
I do think I need to point out one thing to you. I don't think there is much that I can teach you, after all you have a Phd, but, perhaps I just want to be doubly sure that you've considered the way bullies and gangs operate. I've been in this position more than once with a kid and the school system, and I've also watched Mopologetics for some time now. Suppose a bully gets in trouble and is forced to stop a certain behavior. In that event, either directly or by unsaid communication, the bullies underlings will carry out the deeds of the bully in his stead, and with exaggeration, as penalties for the bully getting in trouble. It's not as you might think it is, cut off the head and the beast dies -- cut off the head and two more grow to take its place.
Are you familiar with the Schryver episode here? The deniability over it here on this board as it unfolded by certain apologist parties went to extremes that may have had a material link to what happened in 2012. Do not pay 10k$ to charity over expertly handled denial verse "good faith" effort to keep what happens on his blog civil. Sorry bro, but I admit that I'm not a policy man, I'm a sucker for rational expectations theory, which says that policy, such as financial incentives, generally don't hit the targets, as people instinctively know how to game the deal.
And so if you go through with this, I would strongly suggest that you hold him to "good faith" moderation of his blog, and have a keen sense IF he tries to beat the system by having the war continued by other means or other parties. In fact, I would suggest you seek two other individuals out (not me) to act with you as a panel for making the final judgement on whether he fulfilled his terms.
And that is all I have to say on the matter. However you proceed, should you throw caution to the wind, it will not negatively impact my view of your good intentions, and I'll try to take whatever unfolds for the interesting scenario it surely will be, one way or another.
