Yes, Schmo, Trump's supporters have demonstrated again and again that they are willing to excuse and even praise anything Trump has done or said--even things they would mercilessly excoriate a Democrat (especially a Black) leader for doing or saying. What amazes and dismays me the most is Ajax apparently would unconcernedly accept Trump as president, even if he unabashedly aspired to an absolute Tyrant, even as a Putin puppet.

As you also said, they regard Trump as competent, most likely because they are too incompetent themselves to recognize Trump's appalling incompetence and pathological dishonesty for what it is.

ETA: I don't think it is much of a stretch to accuse Ajax of breaking the first commandment by his unwavering reverence for Trump.

If were a Trump supporter who contracted the virus, lost a loved one to the virus or lost my business or my bank account...this would be enough to put me over the edge in favor of Biden. Posting without linking here. In an interview with (I believe it was) Rachel Maddow, Michael Cohen offered his theory on how Trump will manage his exit should he lose the election. He said that after Trump lost, he'd resign, Pence would step up and then pardon him.

I don't exactly see how a pardon would work to protect him from potential upcoming criminal charges. Maybe I haven't paid enough attention? I just don't know how that would work unless there are criminal charges I'm missing or if a person can be pardoned for any and all criminal charges for what, the duration of their life? That makes no sense to me though few things political ever really do.

I do tend to think that he's running out of steam and that much like Cohen indicated, he's already got his exit plan in place.
