Yes, Schmo, Trump's supporters have demonstrated again and again that they are willing to excuse and even praise anything Trump has done or said--even things they would mercilessly excoriate a Democrat (especially a Black) leader for doing or saying. What amazes and dismays me the most is Ajax apparently would unconcernedly accept Trump as president, even if he unabashedly aspired to an absolute Tyrant, even as a Putin puppet.

As you also said, they regard Trump as competent, most likely because they are too incompetent themselves to recognize Trump's appalling incompetence and pathological dishonesty for what it is.

ETA: I don't think it is much of a stretch to accuse Ajax of breaking the first commandment by his unwavering reverence for Trump.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

No doubt.

Well, the dude's doing a regular number on the 9th commandment.

Actually following his old faith is too hard; his old god wants too much. It's easier to worship Trump (his new god) because you don't need morals, ethics, or a conscience. It's the perfect religion for thugs, assholes, and lazy, fearful whiners, which is why his congregation is as big as it is.

Parasite

That wasn't bad, but it does feel a little insulting to parasites to be compared to Lindsay Graham.

Emphasis mine. It's ON folks. Or should I say I hope and pray that it's on? If were a Trump supporter who contracted the virus, lost a loved one to the virus or lost my business or my bank account...this would be enough to put me over the edge in favor of Biden. He says he didn't want to create panic. When panic is exactly what happened on account of his should I say it--choking.
In Woodward's book, which CNN obtained a copy of ahead of its September 15 release, Trump tells Woodward that "this is deadly stuff" on February 7 in a recorded interview, warning it was "more deadly than even your strenuous flus." But Trump continued to publicly downplay the threat for weeks afterward, and he told Woodward on March 19 he did so purposefully. "I wanted to always play it down," Trump said in a recorded interview. "I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."

Apparently some recordings have been released but I don't know if they're in reference to the above. I'll get there eventually.

BREAKING: Sens. Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, and Josh Hawley all get added to Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court picks”

Is this real? This has to be a troll.

Edit: Nope. Not a troll.

The actual recordings can be heard at the Washington Post site.
So yeah, he didn't want to create a panic. 190,00 dead as of this morning, but no panic. Well done.

Posting without linking here. In an interview with (I believe it was) Rachel Maddow, Michael Cohen offered his theory on how Trump will manage his exit should he lose the election. He said that after Trump lost, he'd resign, Pence would step up and then pardon him.

I don't exactly see how a pardon would work to protect him from potential upcoming criminal charges. Maybe I haven't paid enough attention? I just don't know how that would work unless there are criminal charges I'm missing or if a person can be pardoned for any and all criminal charges for what, the duration of their life? That makes no sense to me though few things political ever really do.

Thanks! I had a link waiting on the side for that. Just haven't gotten round to it yet. You would think this obviously taped disclosure would put his ass squarely in a sling at this point.

I do tend to think that he's running out of steam and that much like Cohen indicated, he's already got his exit plan in place.

I ask you, how freaking stupid was he to talk to Bernstein?

ETA: There's something seriously wrong with my brain. It was Woodward, not Bernstein. I posted about it myself earlier in the thread. What. an. idiot.

A second term of Trump means that we will get him as an imperial President. He will be like a dictator.
You know I feel like you are exercising actual insight here. Would the above be acceptable to you and if so why? Would you object and if so why?
