Perhaps because they have more important things to do? Why do well known men from MD's past leave?

I see you still can't get out of the 1960s. Have fun.

Here's a new one:
John teamed up with his Open Stories Foundation board chair to start THRIVE, described thusly on its website:
THRIVE, according to the Utah Dept. of Commerce's records database, is nowhere to be found in the non-profit database. That's because it's actually a DBA for an LLC John set up in 2018 called "Center for Religious and Secular Progress"
John is the sole manager/owner of this LLC, meaning 1) He's lying about THRIVE being non-profit, and 2) All this bluster lately about him stepping off the board of THRIVE is complete BS because there is no board!
This is on top of the fact that John ripped off the THRIVE branding from a financial seminar company, who has been using that logo since before John ever established his LLC.

Only problem? It's not a non-profit at all.THRIVE is a non-profit movement founded to help people as they transition away from religion. THRIVE consults with mental health experts to provide best practices in finding new internal values which are congruent with new beliefs. THRIVE counts on volunteers to help deliver the knowledge and community that people desperately need after leaving religion.

Have you contacted the sltrib? They did an article on this, calling thrive a nonprofit. It looks to me like thrive is under the umbrella of Open Stories Foundation, but contact the reporters who wrote the story about thrive and see what they think. Let us know what you find out.

Do you know whether an application for exemption has been filed with the IRS?

Here is the link Dehlin provided regarding Thrive’s tax exempt status:

Re: Problematic John Dehlin, a short list
So there is a Thrive Foundation registered under Clint Martin (John's Open Stories Foundation board chair) and a Thrive registered as a DBA LLC, owned exclusively by John.
Anyone have any idea why someone would structure their operation this way??

That Thrive logo is pretty damning.
What happens in this situation? Not super familiar with trademarks and copyright. Could Dehlin be forced to change his logo or face some sort of monetary penalty?

Re: Problematic John Dehlin, a short list
So, after making all those claims about Thrive not being an entity, you finally looked under the actual name shown on the website: Thrive Foundation, Inc. https://secure.utah.gov/bes/displayDetails.html Why structure a foundation the way that foundations are actually structured -- gee, that's a mystery.jpatterson wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 5:26 pmSo there is a Thrive Foundation registered under Clint Martin (John's Open Stories Foundation board chair) and a Thrive registered as a DBA LLC, owned exclusively by John.

I suspect he'll get a cease and desist and have to change his logo.
