Daniel showed me who he is a couple of years ago: a bad-faith deal maker. I wanted him to be more, but he wasn't and I believe him now. Whatever his justification for pursuing life and profession with that operating model, doesn't change the fact that when it comes to money or Mormonism, it should be presumed that he's always operating in bad faith. As many people seem to have learned before me, "fool me once" and all.
Indeed. I was suprised by Kofford's decision to give anyone connected to Mopologetics an advance review copy of a book on such a controversial topic. All anyone needs to do is fully internalize the implications of Interpreter's decision to publish Susan Easton Black's disgraceful pseudo-review of Ben Park's Nauvoo book to realize that this crew deserves absolutely zero trust when it comes to handling reviews in a professional, not to mention adult, way.
Make them buy their own damn copies when they are available for sale to the public, I say.

Yeah, shameful behavior. Even more so because I am sure at one point there was a “good faith” hand extended in order to receive the advance copy. It’s childish at best, but I view the pattern of behavior at Interpreter as something closer to teenage subterfuge.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but it does seem that TIF is likely producing a good amount of material based on the money that Tom referenced it spending.
It's certainly not scholarly or credible from a journalistic standpoint, but it is nonetheless a fair amount of stuff. I think the people who are donating are getting their money's worth, particularly compared to LDS Inc.
I would bet money, however, that Peterson has multiple piggy banks that he dips into for himself and his pet projects though and I'm not sure what to say about those.
I’m pretty sure this is one of the longest posts DCP has made on his blog in a very long time. Certainly very long for someone who is self styled as “reluctant to ask for money.”
The Relief Society Sister in Parowan advises me that the Interpreter Foundation reported spending the following in recent years:
Expenses through the third quarter of 2022 are $88,150.72, so the Foundation may be cutting back.
I must confess that I am somewhat surprised that the Foundation hopes to begin filming Six Days in August "this coming spring or summer." (Perhaps Witnesses footage left on the cutting room floor can be repurposed.) Who's the director? Who's handling the sound effects for the fight scenes? Has the casting call gone out? Has BYU Religious Education contracted for rights to include Six Days in August in their curricula?
I understand that Mason Davis has been cast to play Brigham Young in Six Days. I don't see him as Brigham Young. In any case, Interpreter Foundation has announced that the film is coming out in June 2024. Mark your calendars.
In money news, the Interpreter Foundation has raised $5,890 through its Thanksgetting 2022 Facebook fundraiser. However, I have it on good authority that donations have slowed recently, so please consider cutting back on buying Christmas gifts for your family this year and fork over the difference to the Foundation with a glad heart.
