"Misinformation and misconceptions about the Book of Abraham can trouble to Latter-day Saints, but usually, the part that people find troubling is assuming that the misinformation is true."

I doubt Gee has succeeded in proving the "misinformation" is false.
John Gee is partially right here. The misinformation about the Book of Abraham that the church peddled for so long, which many assumed to be true, is troubling.

Both Royal Skousen and Terryl Skousen have admitted Smiths interpretations of the facsimiles are wrong and that the content of the Book of Abraham was given by revelation.

Terryl Givens, you mean?

Seems like Gee's obsession with the Book of Abraham has alienated him from most of his fellow Mopologists. He is so hell-bent on proving up his hypotheses about the missing scroll(s), or finding a new Rosetta Stone that will prove that Joseph's interpretations of the facsimiles are correct, that his creative juices on other Mopologetics issues are spent.

So what. Big deal. Who cares?

What have those clowns ever said about the colossal error in Smith's inspired revision of the Old Testament in connection with the original revelations of the Visions of Moses?

My latest post up in the Celestial Forum is dumping salt into their already hurting wounds and I've got buckets more to dump on them until they scream and beg for mercy.

That's the least of his problems. He is tasked with something far more difficult and beyond his ability to comprehend. He's going to have to figure out how to fit predynastic and early dynastic Egyptian chronology into the 300-year window allotted by Geneses 11 which was confirmed by Smith's inspired revision.

Good luck with that, Gee!

Heh.... he'll find a way. Of course, it won't convince anyone but himself, but apologists always have an out, it's what makes them apologists.

The only out is to say Egyptology has gotten it all wrong. I worked on the problem privately as an apologist and could not make it work and did not publish or share ideas on how to transform and rearrange Egyptian history.

They are stuck, I tell you. There is no out other than to deny the numbers. The math is set in stone. They know it. They keep their bloody mouths shut on this one. There is no way you can harmonize Smith's timeline with Egyptology. The numbers won't have it.

But Shulem my dear man, the Holy ghost trumps math. With the Holy Ghost all things are possible. Just have faith that somehow there is a miscalculation and your testimony will remain intact.

And you can't turn Anubis into a slave simply by chopping off his nose and disguising the poor guy like Smith thought to do. No amount of apologetics can turn Anubis into a slave and Gee knows that too. What has he said on the subject? He won't touch it because it's too hot to handle. He doesn't have answers.
