Re: Question for Mo Experts

Post by Doctor CamNC4Me »

Wait. Was I mistaken and MG hasn’t spent a significant amount of time prayerfully researching other faith traditions, giving them equal time and effort as he’s done for his birth faith?

MG, would you join me in a sincere prayer to Saraswati? I’m sure you’ve done so in the past because you said you’ve devoted a lot of time and energy studying other faith traditions. Let us begin. Clear your mind. Close your eyes. Bring your palms together. Breath, steady, even, softly. Now you’re ready (as you know).

Aum namo Saraswati Devi, namo namah. I surrender to you, Saraswati Devi, divine goddess of creativity, music, poetry, language, wisdom and learning. I open myself up for your energy to flow through me each and every day. May any fear or resistance be washed away, may self-doubt be illuminated by your light.

Tell me how that made you feel. Do you feel the peace and grace Saraswati provides? That’s her divine energy flowing through you. Welcome to the light, brother.

I’m saddened to see MG won’t even pray to Saraswati, to take even the smallest step toward divine knowledge. I’ve given him my testimony, a prayer, a song to watch, and sceipture to read and he won’t do any of it.

8-) Guess we’ll just have to let the forum readers themselves individually judge as to the reasonably of the arguments presented here.

I thought this was a forum for sharing our faith and beliefs and/or non belief. Doc was encouraging me to investigate his faith and I was curious as to why.

...

You’re acting as a buffer for Doc so that he can avoid response. And he is simply being invited to share what causes him to practice his faith and how it makes him a better and more kind person over the long haul.
My guess it that Doc's brushes with the divine are too sacred to be shared.
These were the two questions I asked:

How long have you been a practitioner of this tradition?

Do you find yourself wanting to treat others with respect and kindness as a result of being a disciple of Saraswati?

I’m not asking him to “brush up” and/or share with us how he has connected with his divinity. Although if he chooses to that would be up to him.

My questions are rather innocuous.

I also expressed my best wishes:

“ Best wishes to you on your life path and I hope you find betterment through this practice. The proof is in the pudding and how long/permanent are the effects of living according to the dictates of this goddess. ”

Again, rather innocuous.

It’s interesting, to say the least, that he has been unwilling to respond. I honestly don’t know why he would be hesitant about sharing.

That is my hope also.

Isn’t the proof is in the pudding a reasonable statement to make in regards to someone’s faith?
Do you apply the same standard to the retention rate of Mormonism? Or do you look at the retention rate of the LDS church differently?
Again, your comments have a hard edge and I wonder what motivates you to act in this way.
We established about a year ago I don't see your shenanigans as good faith participation in discussion so I give you exactly the due a charlatan has earned.
You seem to be acting as a buffer for Doc so that he can avoid response.
You mean I pointed out the clear context for his example which illustrates how a person's own religious bias in favor of their own cultural background is so subjective it adds nothing to these discussions? And your response was simply a reaffirmation of a conceited bias as you jumped to a defense based on stubbornness over substance? Huh.

MG, did you pray sincerely to Saraswati? And have you begun to look into the history, the written records of Saraswati worship? It’s of supreme importance you do so.

Another question along with those I’ve already asked:

What do you find reasonable/logical about worshipping many gods vs. monotheism? Do you pray to Parvati? Lakshmi? All at once? On given days?

How do you keep all of them happy? How do you stay engaged with each?

I’m truly interested in how your faith works for you over the long haul. How long have you been a disciple of the Hindu deities?

How do they affect your moral inclinations in regards to sexual purity? Does the worship which you practice encourage chastity?

I know I’m asking more that one additional question at this point, but I’m interested in the faith tradition of others. I didn’t know we had a Hindu practitioner on board.

Please share what you feel comfortable doing in regards to your faith tradition and how it has impacted your life.

This will help all of us as we travel the road of faith and exploration. Your personal experience is meaningful.

Take a flying leap, honor.

I’m interested in Doc’s (newfound or not so recent) faith tradition. That should be an open topic on this board. Why he is unwilling to answer questions, I am uncertain.

Your attempt to make it about me rather than him is rather transparent.

Are you not interested in the faith tradition of a fellow board member that has found something more rewarding that the CofJCofLDS?

You might actually be able to learn something new. 🙂👍

So, I guess MG was lying when he said he spent a lot of time investigating other faith traditions? That’s really disappointing. MG, did you pray to Saraswati? If not, why not?

Perhaps a devotional song to Saraswati will move you, yes?

Read my posts, answer all of my questions and give me reason to do so. So far you are sounding like a new age devotee trying to act like a Hindu practitioner.

Are you for real? Or are you a fake? I truly don’t know.

If Saraswati and the other Hindu gods truly are important to you is it not worth your time to answer my honest and sincere questions? Until you do I would suspect you might be blowing hot air.

But I hope not.

MG
