Sometimes he’s an entertainer. Why are you so rigid in your understanding of the world you need to put everyone into tidy little mislabeled boxes? I'm not rigid in my understanding of the world. I do value the accurate use of language, though. When you say he's a journalist, you're referring to one specific aspect of his program. You're then misleading someone who might think he took a journalistic approach to, say, the Rosebud episode.

We all know RFM has a bias towards Dehlin. He posted photos of them together and says he enjoys their friendship.

He isn’t hiding that fact at all.

RFM says he defends Dehlin because he is Dehlin's friend. I take him at his word.

But how can RFM consider himself a fair examiner of all things Mormon and exMormon and a "journalist" as some have stated here if he uses his platform as a a positive propaganda piece for his friend?

That's not journalism.

People act in different roles at times, if you can understand that. He comes to the board to defend his friend and reports the news of Jenn Kamp and Dehlin's counterclaims on his podcast. See how that works?

Is anyone else tired of jpatterson claiming this forum is pro-Dehlin? My impression is most of us here don't care about him, but enjoy a podcast on a specific topic from him time to time.

I say lets vote:

All who think Dehlin acts like a scumbag from time to time, is awful at making hiring decisions and probably drinks his own kool aid from tie to time, say "Aye"

All who think Dehlin is the leader of the post Mormon world, can do no wrong, and demands our respect, say "Nay"

jpatterson, I bet you and I would get along just fine in he real world, but these posts are beyond annoying. This has all been discussed ad nauseam. Rosebud has plead her case, you have plead her case, there have been text messages... at the end of the day, it is what it is. I have sympathy for Rosebud and what she went through.

Kamp is a different situation. There are recordings of the situation, they don't match the narrative that has changed over time. Her story does not strengthen Rosebud's case, imho. The only similarity is both of these women claim that they excelled at their job and were saving Open Stories Foundation in ways that, according to them, JD is unable to. I find it a bit hard to believe. Open Stories Foundation really doesn't make that much money, so any employee that can positively impact the bottomline would be prioritized.

There are so many Mormons salivating at the thought of Dehlin being taken down by this.

I don't much care for anyone who salivates at the thought of other people being taken down and I mean any other people. I don't wish ill to any one of the people we tangle with. I hope that Rosebud thrives. I hope that Jenn Kamp finds all success and happiness. I hope that our friends in Mopologetics do well and lead rewarding lives. I do not want to see anyone "taken down."

The desire to see others taken down is a sickness of the soul.
